Not long ago, HP launched its latest model of the Spectre x360, and if you’re currently on the lookout for a laptop that’s slim and light enough to accompany you in your busy daily schedule, this one might just be your perfect gadget.
The HP Spectre x360 has been one of the tech world’s favourite convertible 2-in-1 laptops, and the brand recently updated its features for a better user experience. The current model also comes in a chic new colour, the lustrous rose gold, and it’s easy to understand why people have fallen in love with it.
It’s really light and slim
“I needed a good laptop that’s not heavy, because my job requires me to go out for meetings a lot,” said Alyssa, a 25-year-old graphic designer and animator, who recently started using the HP Spectre x360. “It easily fits inside my handbag, so I don’t have to lug around an extra laptop bag.”
At just 1.26 kg, the laptop is one of the thinnest and lightest convertibles around, but despite its slim body, it has a well-built device with a solid keyboard deck and trackpad.
“I love how I can work on it anywhere and at any time. I use it as a laptop when I’m working on an animation; the tablet is easy for me to edit my graphics or photos, and the tent mode comes in handy when I’m showing my work to clients,” explained Alyssa, while showing us how her laptop can be smoothly transformed into any of its four modes: the standard clamshell, stand, tablet, or tent.
“The touch display of FHD resolution is amazing – the details in photos and videos are very clear, and that is necessary for me when it comes to edits,” Alyssa commented. “It’s quite amazing that such a small laptop can make the smallest details pop out.”
Designers will also appreciate the HP Active Pen that comes with it, offering over 1,000 levels of pressure sensitivity, and promising a natural ‘pen on paper’ feel. One can effortlessly create different strokes in drawings, or quickly write notes in any mode.
Easy charging and long battery life
As a young working professional who’s on-the-go a lot, the HP Spectre x360’s battery feature is important for Alyssa. “I’ve used it for a whole work day, and I didn’t have to worry about not having enough battery life for my next meetings,” she shared. “It’s pretty impressive how I can flawlessly edit images and do any last-minute changes without having to charge my laptop over and over again.” She also showed us how the HP Active Pen takes only 15 seconds to charge via USB, after which one can get about three hours of usage.
Sound and security
Thanks to the upscale Bang & Olufsen speakers, listening to music and videos is a fantastic experience despite the laptop’s small size. “The sound is very clear, a plus point for me when I have to show my animation videos to my team and clients,” commented Alyssa.
She also pointed out her laptop’s security features, which includes a 3-D fingerprint technology and the HP TrueVision FHD IR camera to login with facial recognition. “I’ve only known these features from my mobile phone, so it’s splendid that I have them on my laptop, too. After all, I don’t want anyone stealing my client’s designs,” she concluded with a laugh.
It’s thin, powerful and chic – if you want a laptop that gives you the best of everything, the HP Spectre x360 in pale rose gold is available now for RM6,399.
