Spring 2017 sees colour bursting out of the woodworks. Here are the collections to shop in-store now, and some to look forward to.

Urban Decay

Basquiat Collection

This April, Urban Decay will launch 12 special-edition products—from shadow to blush palettes, and lipsticks to eye pencils and bags—inspired by artist Jean-Michel Basquiat’s artwork.

Artist Jean-Michel Basquiat who began drawing and painting at the age of four had already made a name for himself as a graffiti artist in Manhattan by the time he was a teenager. At 20, he’d landed his first public exhibition. A pioneer of the neo-expressionist movement, he rose to fame in the ’80s art scene in NYC and partied with the likes of Andy Warhol, David Bowie and Debbie Harry. His iconic work is still exhibited all over the world.

Of Basquiat, the brand states: ‘Like Urban Decay, Jean-Michel Basquiat was an outsider who challenged the status quo and used colour in nontraditional ways. From his informal graffiti work and the way he mixed mediums and colours to the way he spoke out against social injustice, it’s hard to imagine a more perfect fit for our brand.’
