At the turn of every season, everyone faces the dilemma of finding the right facial cleanser. We each have different skin types, that react differently with lifestyle and climate change; so while I can’t pick out the perfect cleanser for you, I can round up a bunch of top-rated cleansers in which you girls and boys can try out for yourselves, according to personal concerns and skin types.
DEEP CLEANSERS // HEAVY FOAM
SK-II Facial Treatment Gentle Cleanser (120g), RM219
SK-II is known for being applicable for most skin types – but I believe, this product is perfect for oily and combination skin at most. It eliminates oil leaving your skin shine-free after just one cleanse. It has a soft creamy texture when applied and you can instantly feel deep cleansing take place the instant it touches your skin. I’ve also noticed how well this product gets rid of impurities and unclogs your pores, allowing your skin to breathe.
Garnier Men AcnoFight Wasabi Foam, RM14.90
I personally could not test this out myself because mens products can be a little harsh on my sensitive skin, so I had help with this one. It’s strange to hear wasabi as a main ingredient in your face wash. Naturally, you would think wasabi = hot; in this case, you couldn’t be more wrong!
When applied, the wasabi is actually cooling and tingly! This product is great for oily skin – the wasabi seeps so far into your skin, blocking out any bacteria that could lead to clogged pores and break-outs.
OXY Deep Cleansing Wash, RM13.90
Here’s another product that’s great for oily and acne-prone skin. This cleanser didn’t make much of a difference for my skin, so I handed it over to a friend who by the end of using the full tube, had outstanding results! Containing vitamins C and E, OXY’s deep cleansing wash scrubs majority of bacteria from pores with just one wash. This may be a bit harsh if you have dry or normal skin, which is why this product is highly recommended for people with oily complexions.
LIGHT FOAM CLEANSERS
Gokujyun Hydrating Cleanser, RM28.90
I never trusted the ability of light foam cleansers until I came across the opportunity to do a trial run on these products. Gokujyun’s cleanser leaves the skin fresh – it eliminates all the dry cells and particulates on your skin, preventing it from appearing too dry or too oily. The hydrating elements remain on skin throughout the day, protecting its against both hot and cold weather – a useful and trustworthy all-year round product!
Laneige White Plus Renew Bubble Cleanser, RM90
The best part about this cleanser is the feeling once applied onto your damp skin. It’s light and soft yet does a fantastic job cleansing your skin which is a plus point for me considering the fact that I have terribly sensitive skin. If you’re one for whitening cleansers and are looking to renew your skin and make it appear brighter, this would do the trick. Plus, it’s suitable for all skin types! So any one out there with sensitive skin who can’t seem to find a soft and gentle cleanser, this is your product!
Nuxe Paris Purifying Cleansing Gel, RM70, available at Sasa
Nuxe’s Purifying Cleansing Gel has a soap-free formula that transforms into a rich and foamy lather once applied onto damp skin. For a soap-free product, it does an impressive job cleansing pores, eliminating excess sebum, preventing the accumulation of oil, all while respecting the skin. If you have oily and combination skin and in search of a gentle cleanser made mostly from plant and fruit extracts, Nuxe Paris Purifying Cleansing gel is the way to go!
Soap & Glory Daily Face Wash, RM50, available at Sephora
If you asked me to list five main perks I look for in a cleansing product, one of them would have to be its scent – Soap & Glory never fails to please me in this region! I’ve always been one of those people who have a constant tired face whether I’m well-rested or not, this has always been the case. Soap & Glory’s Daily Face Wash is easy on the skin, always makes you look awake and fresh, minimises tired areas of your skin including pores, purifies and rejuvenates your skin cells all while smelling … orgasmic!
Peter Thomas Roth Rose Stem Cell Cleansing Gel, RM122, available at Sephora
If it isn’t already obvious which one of these cleansers is my all-time favourite, the usage level of the products would have probably given it away by now. For me, so far, nothing has repaired and renewed my skin as well as Peter Thomas Roth’s Rose Stem Cell Cleansing Gel – it’s light, minimal usage is required per application (just a pea size per wash), it has a divine scent, is made mostly from natural extracts, instantly clears impurities, prevents and repairs signs of ageing, and is suitable for all skin types (which is amazing considering the fact that my skin is frustratingly bipolar), and the final results prove to keep up to your money’s worth!
What’s your favorite cleanser? Any tips on other facial cleansing products we should try?
