Wonder Woman – provoking thought, conversation, and well, wonder, since its announcement in 2005. For years, the DC comics character endured its fair share of development hell. Joss Whedon of Buffy fame was slated to write and direct the film adaption (because, who else!?) but left the project in 2007. In the same year, Warner Bros. Pictures and Silver Pictures bought a ‘spec script‘ but alas, it was canned for various reasons Download the svn source. After some years of silence, Michelle McLaren (‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘The X-Files’) was named to direct the film in 2014, but left the next year due to ‘creative differences‘.

Ugh, will you folks stop breaking our hearts!?

Now, can everyone calm their tits? Free! Let’s talk about the movie for what it is – a movie. We just want to sit back, chill with some popcorn, and watch a badass warrior rip the baddies a new one.

For all the hassle that it has been through, our verdict in one word is: entertaining.

And for a summer movie, that’s not a bad thing at all Download Jurassic World Alive.

The film begins in the present day, but a scene brings us back to the origins of Wonder Woman, set in the island nation of Themyscira, featuring lush greens, roaring blue waters, and silky white horses.

At times, it felt as if the film wasn’t quite sure what it wanted to be – an epic war movie, an action comedy, or…a beauty commercial 펌프 잇 업 프라임2?

Granted, almost all of the jokes worked and we really, truly, actually LoL-ed, and not the regular, fake kind.

Oh, my fair and smooth armpits, where art thou Windows 10 Internet Explorer 10?

At times, the movie stank of cheesiness. Wonder Woman’s lines made us cringe and we don’t need no Lasso of Truth to say that the combination of poor writing and a terribly made CGI end shot kind of let the movie down. (Let us know if you see it!)

At other times, we are treated to unnecessary and unnecessarily prolonged shots of the beauty that is Gal Gadot.

Hey, we get it, she is a regular fixture in hot lists and cosmetic companies are dying to make her infinitely more beautiful than she already is. Meanwhile, us mere mortals here are just trying to get by with our civilian faces.

(On that note: who sponsored her eye makeup in the last scene?)

Regardless, the movie does pack a punch as a satisfactory mid-year source of entertainment. As a case study of how to produce a female superhero movie and rile every man and woman up because you just can’t please everyone? 10 out of 10.

Dat logo soundtrack tho.

Oh, and there are no – we repeat, NO – post-credit scenes. We stayed all the way to the end, we promise, and you’re welcome!
