You will need: 1) Assorted fabrics 2) A pair of scissors 3) Adhesives 4) Needle and thread 5) Satay sticks or bamboo chopsticks 6) Buttons or other decorative items Optional: - Cardboard or paper (to write a note) - A clip to make a brooch!
- Flower style 1: Prepare a rectangular cloth and it in fold half. (*fabric length is up to you)
- Sew and gather fabric till the end of the cloth and sew the sides together.
- Take a stick and poke it through the hole and secure the fabric to the stick by sewing around it tightly. Glue or sew on a button to finish it.
- Flower style 2: Prepare a square cloth, fold and roll it upwards. Glue or sew the rolled up tip. Take a stick and glue 1/4 of the fabric and roll till the end; sew the ends.
- Flower style 3: Prepare small square cloths, fold it twice (triangle) and sew the tip.
- Open up the triangles and stack it up to become a flower. Secure it by sewing the mid section. Turn over (to the rear side) and glue on a stick.
- Glue on a button or choice embellishment.
- Flower style 4: Prepare a rectangular cloth and apply glue at first section of the cloth. (a small section will do)
- Roll it and shape the flower “petals” by gathering the cloth and sewing it section by section till the end. (a longer cloth will make a bigger flower)
- The finish product.
- Gift ideas 1: DIY a brooch for Mom by getting a pretty artificial flower and sew on a pin. Take a stick and poke it on the stem hole and arrange it with the rest of the fabric flowers!
- Gift ideas 2: If you are planning on giving a pair of earrings, you can pin it onto the fabric flowers you made earlier and make Mom find it!
