- How to do the dip dye, step by step!
- First, prepare clothing to be dyed.
- TIP: Use a bottle to easily measure 500ml of hot water needed for the mix.
- TIP: To keep hands clean, use a long stick to stir the mixture.
- TIP: Fabric has to be damp before it is dipped into the dye.
- Fill the first bucket with cold water (just enough to cover the fabric).
- Fill the second bucket with 500ml of the hottest tap water (use your water heater).
- Poke the cap of dye with a pair of scissors and add it to the second bucket.
- Add salt to the mixture, and stir well.
- Pour mixture from the second bucket into the first bucket, and stir well.
- Dip the article of clothing into bucket, and leave it for an hour (checking on it throughout the process)
- Wash dye off until the water runs clear before you dry it.
- The result of (a wet) one-coloured dip dye.
- The result of (a wet) two-coloured dip dye.
- The result of two-coloured dip dye (once dried).
- For t-shirts, damp it …
- … And dip it.
