1. Icon of the Week: Liu Wen

    When I first became aware of the modelling scene, it was around the time of Peter Lindberg's top five. There was Naomi, Cindy, Christy, Linda and Tatjana, and they were each in their own right, the most beautiful girl in the world. And then came Kate Moss's debut, and suddenly, the common model stereotype became adoslescent,  teensy (and mostly Russian) alienesque waifs for a time. It was the  death of (individuality and) the supermodel.
This may well be a  very personal opinion, but I feel that Asian models today are stuck  within a similar limit. Liu Wen, is one of the few that I feel, has  overcome this sense of objectification as an Asian model. Because her  beauty alone is so relatable, but at the same time, so memorable, I feel  her reminiscent to the original supermodel. Here are the reasons why.
