Style It Up with Wrangler & Tongue in Chic ft. ThatGirlCynthia

As much as I love playing dress up, on my off-days I dare say I am *the* ultimate jeans gal. It’s certainly a wardrobe staple of mine; and having so many at home, you can imagine I already have my top favourite comfy pairs that I wear over and over again.

So when I checked out Wrangler’s jeans, I was pleasantly surprised as to how incredibly comfortable they are. My motto is strictly comfort is key, especially on my off-days, so if a pair of jeans is stiff or uncomfortable, it won’t work for me no matter how pretty or expensive it is. After trying on like a bazillion pairs (it was TOUGH choosing just one), I finally settled on the Jane 708 Slim Narrow jeans, in this gorgeous acid wash faded gray shade. Reason being, I have way too many blue jeans at home, and I have not actually tried styling in this colour before, so it seemed more fun and challenging to me ;)

And this brand new pair is already an addition to my top favourite comfy pairs at home. No jokes.

Here’s 5 looks at how I style the seemingly average pair of jeans. And another 3 looks *here*.

Look 1: Denim on Denim

(Faded denim shirt, Miraclewatts tote bag, navy boat shoes, Casio watch)

The double denim trend is back. While some may view it as a tricky and controversial trend, (think Britney & Justin at the 2001 AMA’s), face the challenge head on by pairing two denim shades that are unidentical. Blue on blue denim is fine, as long as one is lighter than the other.

Look 2: Travel Chic

(Cotton On denim vest and white scarf, Rayban wayfarers, platform heels)

As much as I travel for work and play, this (or a variation of this) is generally the only way I dress when I’m about to board a plane (assuming I’m not touching down in a country in the middle of dead winter, of course). A scarf to wrap around when it’s cold, otherwise hung loosely around the neck as a key accessory. You can also use a pashmina instead of a solid scarf, for a pop of colour. Sunglasses are essential to cover up tired eyes.

Look 3: Viva la Bohemia

(An Old Flame gypsy tunic, leather platform heels, rope string headband)

Taking a modern spin to the classic 60′s hippie bohemian style. While the flared bell-bottom jeans comes to mind when thinking of the 60′s, skinnies work as well when paired it with a loose-fitting tunic or dress.

Look 4: Preppy Corporate

(Vintage silk shirt, print scarf, An Old Flame Hermes inspired canvas bag, black oxford booties)

For a more polished and professional look, dress the jeans up with a white crisp shirt and oxford shoes; and now you mean business. Accessorize with a geometric print scarf, or a bright coloured handbag, for a nice pop of colour.

Look 5: Rockstar Chic

(The Beatles concert tank, red patent leather Doc Marts)

As an avid concert-goer, I should know that jeans are essential to any rocker look. A loose tank top or baby tee, because you know you’ll come back at sweated out. Make a statement with your shoes. Good choices include a worn out pair of chucks, combat boots, or even knee-high boots. My trusty ol’ DMs here ensures  me a good rockin’ time with zero worries of fellow moshers stepping on my feet!
