Perhaps fashion and football locked its faith when stars on the pitch decided to dabble in the modelling world (Giorgio Armani reckons they make the best clotheshorses) or started dating fashion icons who have in turn brought fashion to the side stands. Whatever the reason may be, there’s no denying its pull this year as World Cup fever heats up. So maybe most of us can’t and won’t pretend that we know football as much as the next guy, however, nothing is stopping us from having a little fun as we asked some of our fashion elites what they thought of football and the World Cup. The men, obviously!

Fernando Torres! Well I’d say Nakata if he were still on the field.
3. Which footballer has the best dress sense?
All I ever see them in is their trainers and jerseys, but red’s a good colour so I’d say Rooney of Man U!
4. Throughout the years, which football-related, fashion or fragrance campaign do you think was the most impressive/memorable?
David Beckham perfume.
5. Which footballer has the best hairstyle?
Ronaldo.
6. Who would be in your winning eleven squad?
Richard Gere, Barack Obama, Tiger Woods, Louis Hamilton, Michael Jordan, David Beckham, Torres, Ronaldo, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and her son.
7. If fashion replaced football, what do you think “offside” would mean?
It would mean that your revealing too much of your side boob.

1. What do you like most about the World Cup?
My son loves soccer, so I get to appreciate World Cup with him but personally, it’s the spirit that matters most. You see the trend everywhere; people wearing their favorite team jerseys, tags, putting up posters… It’s just nice to see colourful flag shades all over!
2. Which team do you reckon has the best football kit?
I’m biased, win or lose, it’ll be Japan!
3. Which footballer is most drool-worthy?
Beck’s abs, just please don’t let him talk… I find his voice a little high pitched for his macho bod.

I think Becks is still the reigning god of World Cup.

As cliche as it may sound… Victoria Beckham is been miles ahead compared to the other wives and girlfriends.

I love the unity and patriotism each individual has shared together for this event. Of course, not forgetting the beautiful colours, and how they fashionably relay their fashion through this event.

I would go for Portugal. Just love their football kit. The green/red socks and their matching jersey. The color combination on the jersey is just fabulous and it does not look like a Christmas tree.

Definitely Cristiano Ronaldo.

I would go for Cristiano Ronaldo too… Of all the footballers that I know…

This one… I don’t follow most of them but I think I will just go for Victoria Beckham… I do think she has contributed loads on fashion trend.

I can’t remember any good ones, but I can tell you this year’s most disappointing world cup campaign goes to Astro.

I kinda like Torres… And the forever headband… He looks like a professional hip footballer.
8. Who would be in your winning eleven squad (can be non footballers)?
I think that would definitely be Rooney, Torres and Ronaldo, Thierry Henry for the skills, David Beckham for the fashion icon, Ryan Seacrest for the good PR coverage, Simon Cowell for the verbal abuse and Kate Moss, Gisele Bundchen for the beauty and Lady Gaga for the pop commercial feel and lastly, ME as a goal keeper.

Okay, to be honest… I don’t know very much about the World Cup but I do love how sports can bring the whole nation together. So, I guess you can say I simply enjoy sharing the moment with the rest of the world!

Cristiano Ronaldo. Too adorable to not love!

Cristiano Ronaldo.
4. Who do you think is the most fashionable WAG (wives or girlfriends of footballers)?
Victoria Beckham. I know plenty of people out there who hate her! But hey, that woman’s got style! And all her Birkins are to die for!

DVB perfume ad! They look amazing together.
6. Which footballer has the best hairstyle?
I may be old school but I think I really liked Beckham’s rooster haircut back in the days, it was quite a big hit back then and it made his look super cheeky.
7. If fashion replaced football, what do you think “offside” would mean (in fashion)?
Fashion gone wrong! For instance, If I’m a referee and when I see knee length polka-dots leggings with lace trim worn under short denim skirts, you’ll see me blowing my whistle and calling that offside!

1. What do you like most about the World Cup?
Football is the one activity that brings the world together. It doesn’t matter where you are or what the language is or who you’re with, you could turn to the table beside you and share a goal with strangers. I live in an apartment, and when a team scores (or doesn’t), you can hear a reaction coming in unison from all the blocks. It’s amazing.
2. Which team do you support? Which team has the best football kit?
Germany. Always Germany. Simple, understated, strong and bold by nature.
3. Which footballer is most drool-worthy?
It was always Fredrik Ljungberg for me, but since he’s retired, Kaka plays a close second.

Whichever strips the fastest

Honestly? None of them. I despise WAG fashion (or lack thereof). But Victoria sure does get herself out there enough to cover up her WAG errors with the right amount of publicity. So by default, she’s most (and I say this with a shudder) fashionable.

Dolce & Gabbana’s Calcio underwear campaign… oh, yessss.

I really don’t want to say David Beckham, but I’ll have to say David Beckham… only because he’s one to keep us on our toes.

Marc Jacobs for a limitless supply of energy bars, Bora Aksu for dreamy uniforms, Obama for inspiring pep talks, Mraz for avocado salads, Charlie Brooker for offense, Kurt of Glee for the Single Ladies routine, Gordon Ramsey for defense, all three Kardashians for distraction, and of course… my husband for hotness ^_^
