1. Get on the Thrift Train at KL Bundle Festival

Here’s an event that will get the adrenaline spiking in bargain hunters, style stalkers and thrift trappers alike. Created by Pintu Merah, whose previous credits include hosting KL Vintage Festival, this is Kuala Lumpur’s first official Bundle Festival. If your shopping experiences have only included the vanilla-tainted four walls and standardized air conditioning of shopping malls thus far, you’re in for a real treat.

As explained by Zaza, one of the organizers of the KL Bundle Festival, “it is like finding a sunken ship, like Titanic; God knows what you can find in there!” The unique steals and deals are right there waiting to be snapped up and it’s game on to see who’s the lucky one to get it first. Here’s your chance to etch out some individuality in your dressing, as most bundle items are strictly one-off without repeats.

Zaza also shares some things to look out for in bundle shopping for newcomers – special interest items, such as limited edition or cult brands; year of manufacture (it would seem like wine, it’s a case of the older, the better); the quality of goods; history of the goods/brands name and trends that are era-specific. With an expected crowd of 30 vendors spanning from Klang Valley and interstate, you can rest assured an experience unlike any other.

Kuala Lumpur Bundle Festival is happening on the 4th of February 2012 from 11am to 11.30pm at Lot 153, Jalan Ampang (behind Pelita Nasi Kandar KLCC). For more information, check out their Facebook event page.
