  1. Festival Dressing for Women

Posted by Liyana Sobri on August 2, 2012

Festival dressing is no simple art as some serious planning needs to be done – one wrong clothing choice can leave you with a day’s worth of misery! Lucky for you, we’ve found the perfect combo to keep you cool and looking even cooler for the festivals. Have a look a this guide for a perfect OOTFestival (that’s Outfit of the Festival, naturally!).

    An Easy Breezy Outfit

Button down playsuit, RM 119.50, from http://www.thimbleboutique.com | Orange Fringe Tee, RM 15, from http://www.fashionunion.com

Tees, shorts, sundresses, playsuits or anything lightweight and comfortable should be your pick for a festival day out – especially in our scorching weather! But one thing’s for sure, crop tees and fringe tops are the champion in providing ventilation. For a breezy outfit, you can opt to make your own fringe top and crop tee. Simply snip the ends of your boring ol’ tees and tank tops and voilà you get yourself a cool (literally) top to rock at the festivals. If you’re no DIY queen, you could just shop for a fringe top here.

    Covered shoes

Printed Espadrilles, $42.00 (approx. RM 130) from http://www.soludos.com

To keep your all your toes safe amongst the boisterous festival crowd, put on your covered shoes! Be it espadrilles, loafers, flats or even sneakers (Converse are classics for a reason), covered shoes will certainly shield your feet from being trampled on. Plus, they look très chic, so why not?

    Hair Accessories

Straw Hat, £25 (approx. RM 120) from Asos Marketplace

Top off your outfit with a hat and keep your head happy! If you’re not a hat person, then you could play with hair accessories. Snazz up your typical braids and ponytails with these hair accessories that will surely allow you to beat the heat in style! These accessories will definitely leave you looking all dolled up in an effortless way!

For a gorgeous range of festival accessories, head over to Asos Marketplace.

    Printed Sunnies

Tribal printed shades, RM 79, from Topshop and Aj Morgan Delicate Floral Sunglasses, RM 54, from Asos

Leave your plain and simple shades and go for these printed shades that are so in-trend! Make sure you pick shades that suit your face the best and you’re good to go to have a blast at the festival! Here is a guide on some of the must-have sunnies for summer.

    Handy carry-all bags

Rebecca Minkoff Neon Mini M.A.C. Clutch, $225.00 (RM 705), from http://www.eluxe.ca

If you can’t ditch the bag, then pick cross-body satchels, backpacks or fanny-packs and other carry-alls that leaves your hand free for dancing and clapping. Tip: DON’T wear the latter around your waist tourist-style, sling it over your shoulder instead. With that, you get to be stylish and nifty at the same time! We’re loving the Rebecca Minkoff Mini M.A.C. that comes in a range of colours and patterns. They’re just the right size for a festival bag and the perfect pop of colour. Cotton On also carries highly affordable ones.

For the dudes, we’ve got a guide for festival dressing for you too! Head on over here to have a look at it!
