This is not the distress call of a broken hearted gal. Instead, it is the resiliently witty, brand motto of New York-based luxury denim brand, Prps, who has just made its way to my shores.
Prps was established in 2003 by founder of the New York based urban clothing company Akademiks and Donwan Harrell; who was considered as one of Nike‘s top 10 former designers. Donwan Harrell is currently the Creative Director of the luxury denim brand.
Also known as the infamous, “boyfriend jeans,” these Hollywood celebrities give new meaning to the term “worn out and laidback”
An avid fan of its fine craftsmanship, Prps jeans are manufactured in Japan. It all started with the scarcity of larger sizes for the US and European market, hence, the denim label was born.
The denim used for the manufacture of the jeans, is organically grown in Africa.
The manufacturing process was inspired by denim worn by workers before it became popular as an everyday wear. Some of the distinguishing features of Prps jeans include folded back pocket, purple tabs, and different colored buttons on the fly. The label launched a women’s range in the US in September 2008 and launched in Europe and Asia in January 2009.
