Baby steps were taken when MIFA and Maxis launched www.fashionista.my – a fashion portal that connects Malaysian designers with buyers all over the world.
Only after a year, they’re ready to take on the Malaysian market. Being one of the first in the country, MIFA and Maxis launched ‘The Twelve‘, a fashion concept store that serves as an extension of the fashion portal – www.fashionista.my.
The Twelve is located in Fahrenheit88 and as the name suggests, It is a collection of twelve designers specially selected by MIFA that will each have a section in the concept store.
Representing the cream of the corp, the twelve selected designers are:
Shinju Pearls – Stunning yet affordable handmade jewelry crafted with pearls and semi-precious gem stones
TAS Iman by Tom Abang Saufi – A diffusion line of Tom Abang Saufi that consist of modern Islamic wear such as kaftans and scarves
Radzuan Radziwill – Radzuan’s collection is formal, elegant and lavish yet affordable and comfortable
Zero to Ten – Edgy and trendy ready-to-wear pieces that appeal to the younger mass market
Key Ng – The collection provides trendy work and casual wear for both men and women
Young Designers Arena (YODA) – Selected designers under the Young Designers’ Arena caters to a younger crowd with an edgier approach to the garmennts
uReka – A group of artists under the wing of Lucas Blim produces unique items such as stationaries, handmade dolls, products from recycled materials, art paintings and other decorative items.
Sasha Rowena – A stunning range of products made from leather and exotic skins such as handbags, passport holders, phone cases, laptop bags and many others
PU3 – Ready-to-wear apparel that contain both edgy and demure elements
Bumiputera Designers Association (BDA) – Selected designers under the Bumiputera Designers Association offer both ready-to-wear pieces and evening dresses
JKhan – Beautiful range of dresses that can be worn from day to night and made from high quality fabric and materials
Benson Chen – A collection of shoes that range from casual sandals to Swarovski studded heels
Apart from their amazing collections, the designers will conduct monthly fashion shows and media campaigns to showcase their latest collections. Plus, customers of the store will receive professional treatment by well trained assistants and coffee on the house!
