Our New On The Block this week, Sometime boutique, will take you through time with its boutique ambience and collection. Inspired by the 1980 movie, Somewhere in Time, this vintage lifestyle boutique is making it work amongst the trend based stores in Bangsar.
Started by Tangerine Wong, the store was established December last year. The theme of the boutique is “Fashion travels through time” – which applies to the range of timeless pieces they carry.

According to Tangerine, she chose Bangsar because of the crowd traffic and the facilities around the area like the restaurants and Cafés.
The whole store is dainty and minimalistic, with plain white walls decorated with crafty personal touches – such as the wall of photographs.
I personally love the layout of the store. As you enter, the big space on your left is the changing room and then a wooden rack full of quirky items. Accessories are placed on a table, and belts are displayed on a shelf of its own. While the clothes are hung based on the type of apparels, my favourite touch was a staircase rack displaying the shoes!
The most comfortable spot in the store would be the couches (shown in the picture below) So friends can wait while their buddies get their retail fix.
The price range is between RM20-RM69 for accessories and RM39-RM149 for clothes. Sometime is also available online, as Tangerine said she prefers using both channels of selling – indirect (online) and direct (physical).
As for the future of Sometime, Tangerine mentioned expansion of the range of apparels to menswear and perhaps kidswear. She’d also like to name the other boutiques along the same line as the current one, such as “Somewhere” or “Someday”.
