Orchard Road in Singapore has long been synonymous with all things to do with shopping, dining, and every other means of dropping cash in between. Come 25 March to 8 May, watch as (arguably) the most famous stretch in Singapore transforms into a hub of non-stop ferosh fashion activities.
For six weeks, Fashion Season @ Orchard (FSO) celebrates everything about fashion with fabulous fashion activities, shopping & dining promotions and parties presented by the latest high-street and high-end labels along Orchard Road, as they unveil their Spring/Summer collections.
To be held in 30 malls along the stretch, shoppers will get a chance to feast their eyes upon – and work their wallets to – the latest pieces from international brands, as well as from those around the region. Not limited solely to apparel, shoppers can expect the latest in hair products, cosmetics and fragrances as well.
On top of that, catch professional fashion stylists in action at fashion workshops and be mesmerized by top Asian models at the 2011 Orchard Fashion Runway Show, set to take place both indoor to outdoor @ Orchard ION, featuring international fashion labels. These emerging Asian models will also be up against one another for the title of FSO Asian Model 2011, with the winner determined by a panel of judges.
To cater to the fashion photography enthusiasts and people who are interested to pick up more tips and advice from the gurus on fashion photography, there will be Fashion Photography Forum and Fashion Photography Street Exhibition along Orchard Road. And it does not stop here, FSO brings a different angle of fashion to the public from the point of view of a visual merchandiser through the best decorated Fashion Window Display competition. Apart from FSO 2011, for the first time in Asia, and only the third in the world (after Paris and Milan), Men’s Fashion Week (MFW) 2011 will be staged in Singapore from 30 March to 3 April 2011. The five-day inaugural men’s fashion event will showcase the Autumn/Winter 2011 collections of up to 15 renowned brands from Singapore, the Asian region and internationally such as Boss Black by Hugo Boss, Canali, Etro, Raoul, Shanghai Tang and Versace. Event-goers will have the privilege of being the first to view Shanghai Tang and Raoul’s collection before anyone else..
Celebrated stylist and hair guru, David Gan is one of the high-profile names involved in the event that also includes Asian male supermodel, Philip Huang as the face of Men’s Fashion Week 2011. Julian Hee and Utt round up the stars that will add their brand of pizzazz to the week.
