In yet another fashion casualty to hit the headlines during these difficut economic times, Bill Blass will be closing its showroom at 550 Seventh Avenue and eliminate about 30 remaining jobs there. It's been a tough year for the label with a canceled spring collection and its latest designer Peter Som has left with no replacement announced.  Earlier this year, it was put up for sale by its parent company, NexCen Brands Inc. who is still trying to sell the Bill Blass name with the hope that another company will later revive the runway collection.
