#1 Ichiko Aoba Asian Tour

Ichiko Aoba stops over in KL as part of her Asia Tour 2017. Having performed alongside renowned Japanese musicians such as Haruomi Hosono, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Keigo Oyamada aka Cornelius, the singer-songwriter has come a long way since her debut in 2010, at the age of 19.
Blessed with an exceptionally tranquil, bright voice, she recently released her fifth album “Mahoroboshiya”. Supported by local acts Liyana Fizi, Bayangan and Wee Ting, the show will be backed by the creative live visuals of The Tomoe.

#2 Owls Know: An enchanting owl photography exhibition

Award-winning artist Shamma Esoof will be showing her debut solo photography exhibition in Kuala Lumpur. In conjunction with International Mother Earth Day, the show entitled “Owls Know” will feature a series of striking portraits of owls shot at various locations in Malaysia.
Having won several awards such as the 2014 Smithsonian Altered Image Category Award, Capture the Moment Grand Prize 2013, amongst others, Mauritius-born Shamma has been putting her art to the service of animal welfare advocacy for over a decade. Her body of work consists of mainly animal portraits with the majority shot in Malaysia. Among the causes that Shamma supports are nature conservation and responsible pet guardianship.
The exhibition is curated by Kenneth Wong, founder of People Ideas Culture 人思文, a social enterprise NGO.

#3 Play It Again Sam

Play it Again Sam is an evening of poetry, monologues and song dedicated to the passing of two renowned Malaysian artists – actor/producer Samantha Schubert and food/travel writer Fay Khoo. Hosted by SHELAH and featuring a diverse collective of performers including Anitha Abdul Hamid, Bella Rahim, Bihzhu, Chelsia Ng, Dawn Cheong, Elvira Arul, Ellynita Lamin, Gavin Yap, Junji Delfino, Malik Taufiq, Maya Tan, Sarah Shahrum, Shanthini Venugopal, Susan Lankaster and Zahim Albakri, the show will also be backed by the Michael Veerapen Trio. Proceeds go towards the National Cancer Society of Malaysia’s Children’s Home of Hope.
