We know you had big plans for FMFA. The fashion scene at music festivals is anything but boring. Floral prints, fringe, tie-dye, tutus, bra tops, cutoffs and more floral all in one place and sometimes, in one outfit! If you’re guilty of going all out for the now officially cancelled FMFA 2015, here’s our take on how you can still make your festival gear work this weekend, at the best events happening here in KL and in Singapore (if you couldn’t cancel your flights…).
1. What you bought: Rain poncho with a hood, RM49.90
Where to wear: 7th Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Festival 2015 @ Presint 2, Putrajaya, Malaysia
When to wear: Thursday to Sunday, March 12-15, 7am onwards.
Okay, maybe you went a (little) too far and got yourself a fancy, non-RM5 rain poncho. But thank the heavens for Malaysian weather — you could still break out this chic rainwear (which btw, doubles as a storage bag) at the hot air balloon fiesta.
2.What you bought: Tropical Halterneck Swimsuit, RM186
Where to wear: V1.0 @ kyō, Raffles Place, Singapore.
When to wear: Saturday, March 14, 10pm onwards.
Repurpose your swimsuit into a cute bodysuit at this house music party. If you feel a little chilly midway, throw a loose top over it and you’re sorted.
3. What you bought: Crochet Insert Top, RM153 and Flower Crown Garland, RM76
Where to wear: MAESTRO Art Gallery @ Galeri Petronas, Suria KLCC, Malaysia.
When to wear: Now-March 22.
Nothing spells artsy like flowers in your hair. Pair it with a crochet top and you’re ready for a day of art appreciation.
4. What you bought: Arnie Large Aviator Sunglasses, RM66
Where to wear: A Blind Date with Books @ Fuwa Fuwa Bakery, Malaysia.
When to wear: Saturday, March 14, 3-6pm.
Go ahead and rock your aviators at this book exchange with a difference – all the books are wrapped in brown paper, to hide their titles. If you’re not one for wearing sunnies indoors, use them to push back your (undoubtedly amazing) hair.
5. What you bought: Neon Face Paint Sticks.
Where to wear: TWP x Afrojack @ KL Live, Malaysia.
When to wear: Friday, March 13, 7pm onwards.
Wanna stand out? What better way than with glow in the dark facepaint at the Afrojack party. Just remember to put something white on, as it is The White Party!
6. What you bought: Blue Peacock Feather headpiece, RM 87.43
Where to wear: Carlos Rolon solo art exhibition @ Gillman Barracks, Singapore.
When to wear: Sunday, March 15.
Use your festival feathers to dress up for an art exhibition instead – they won’t know what hit them.
7. What you bought: Fringed shoulder bag, RM99.90
Where to wear: OH! Open House @ Joo Chiat Road, Singapore.
When to wear: Sunday, 15 March, 4-10pm.
A festival bag can be easily converted into a holiday walkabout bag, especially if you’re planning on taking in some art on Joo Chiat road.(Not sure if you heard, fringe is pretty big right now.)
8. What you bought: Faux fur cat ears, RM6
Where to wear: Ed Sheeran Live in Singapore @ The Star Theatre, Singapore.
When to wear: Saturday, March 14.
We hear Ed Sheeran loves cats, so what better excuse to break out the novelty ears?
