1. Paris at Pavilion?

    Ooh, what’s this.

If it is selling Paris Hilton fragrances, I’m one who’ll admit to clapping for joy. (Let me explain before you start judging me)

  2. Wordy Accessories

I don’t know whether you’ve noticed but word accessories are all the rage now. I mean, who could forget the Anya Hindmarch ‘I’m Not A Plastic Bag’ phenomenon? And how Carrie Bradshaw popularized having your name in cursive gold around your neck? Now, wordings have progressed to making themselves visible on bangles and jewelry! Take for example the Jessica Kagan Cushman bangles that have been creating waves all over. Okay maybe not here in Malaysia (at least not yet) but I’m keeping my eyes peeled.

  3. Bijou Bazaar

I’m loving how there seem to be a different junkyard sale or fashion party organised every weekend nowadays, whether it’s by Lap Sap, Threads Zoo, or the latest addition in town - Bijou Bazaar.
A two-day clothing and craft bazaar, Bijou Bazaar handled theirs differently by having it next to a pool with food and acoustic performances by the much-raved about KokoKaina (*whom Junk has interviewed before*), 18-year-old Aisya Husnaa from Subang, and Rashdan Harith.
They held it in Jeumpa D’ramo, a boutique hotel smack in the middle of Bangsar that none of us have ever noticed before! It’s right along Jalan Maarof on the corner of Jalan Bangkung, so parking wasn’t a problem.

  4. Only 32 days to go…

    … but who’s counting?
30th May 2008. I want to say it’ll be a relatively significant date, but all that would serve to emphasise really is my lack of priorities. In case you didn’t already know, it’s the launch date of “Sex and the City: The Movie”. It’s funny how if you were to ask me when I last sent my car for a service or if I’ve returned a call or even if I’ve paid my last phone bill, I’ll draw a blank. But a trivial detail like this will stick permanently in my head. And I didn’t even have to mark the date on my calendar! Which I do for all my friends’ birthdays because again, I won’t know unless they tell me.

  5. That Bombshell Look

It’s common knowledge that Bangsar is boutique central of Kuala Lumpur. Just take a stroll along the Jalan Telawis on a weekend and you’ll see stylish women with bags and bags of stuff hanging from their arms, each from the many different boutiques there. Needless to say, it can get pretty daunting to pick which store to hit first. My favourite? It has to be Bombshell on Jalan Telawi 2. It makes the climb up two flights of stairs worth it - I suppose there is some truth to the phrase “Shopping is my cardio”.
Run by Ming and Ethan, Bombshell’s look definitely reflects the eccentric tastes of its owners. The vintage wallpaper gets much love from most people I know, as does the mannequin leg which sticks out from the cashier counter. Walk into the fitting room and you’ll see quirky messages scribbled on the wall by their customers. It’s a store that’s bursting with personality.

  7. FJ Benjamin Sale

It’s back and getting everyone geared up to go! The FJ Benjamin sales has always been one of the more coveted warehouse sales in town, providing a culmination of great brands with sinful prices under one roof.
Past sales have seen Guess, Raoul, La Senza and Gap apparel going for as much as 80% off original price. And there’s nothing wrong with the goods too! No damaged stocks, just past season’s.
Next week, it opens to public on 3rd and 4th May at Level 3, Bangsar Village II New Wing (above MPH bookstore), but lucky HSBC cardholders get a preview on Friday the 2nd.
This is going to be exciting, as Banana Republic and Celine are available this time as well.

  8. I Like Lacoste.

The elements that are really appealing are their sleek cuts and mod style. It’s one of those brands you buy that you know are classic and will never go out of style. Problem is, Lacoste’s prices don’t allow all of us to buy what we like at a whim!
Hence, yay for…

I really do. Have you ever hugged someone wearing a Lacoste shirt? It feels smooth, soft and amazing.
