Maizen KL is still having their sales, visit their Maizen Mansion Bangsar or at Parkson Pavilion.  Walker's @ Zon, Johor Bahru is seeking for fashionistas with the most outrageous and eccentric outfit for their WARDROBE FRENZY ft DJ Misty event. The first gift idea for CNY is here with CNY Kate Spade Pre-Order Sale at Mom's Favourite.  Big news in the blogosphere is: one of our favourite blogshops - The Old Blossom Box has opened in Shah Alam. We've marked February calendars for you, starting with The Threadszoo Bazaar Volume 01 2010 on the first weekend, and then up north at Penang is the Sentral Stage Models 2010 for some fashion and music talents. There is also a competition for your creative self expression at Dell "Make it Yours" Skin Cover Competition. Muse the Art Gallery at Singapore will be hosting my | 4-walls: more than just a photo exhibition for one whole month. Another flea market to visit this month is Bizarre Bazaar 4 at Mist Club. Transgression - A Photo Exhibition is also still at Kinokuniya KLCC, until the end of this month. Another event happening all month long is the Maizen Sale over at both stores in Bangsar and Parkson, Pavilion. The long awaited Green Room Presents 2ManyDJs is tomorrow, and we will be taking style shots so dress your best! Treat yourself to flea market shopping the next day at Lelong Lelong 3. We already have February scheduled in line for you with two events coming up; Sentral Stage Models 2010 for Malaysians up north, and The Threadszoo Bazaar Volume 01 2010.

Down south we have a whole week of pop up store by Reckless Erica & ELOHIM by Sabrina Goh. This weekend will be a whole night of electro music with Green Room Presents 2ManyDJs (Live) @ KL Live (MY). Wake early the very next day because we have the long awaited Lelong Lelong 3 @ Asia Cafe, SS15 (MY).

This weekend might be a good time to visit your pals by the Subang vicinity as Fashionista Bazaar, Bijou Bazaar X MAS Touchdown Charity Event and Enspired Bazaar Ushering 2010 Part 2 are all taking place not far from one another. If you're closer to the city, then head over to Charity Bazaar by Soroptimist Club of Ampang. Sze Accessories finally will be available physically at Isetan KLCC. Don't forget to visit Vincent Paul Yong's Transgression - A Photo Exhibition at KLCC and take your time to go to Maizen KL Sale for some happy sales shopping - with 65% markdown. Lastly this weekend, Malaysia Chocolate Fair will be the first to showcase chocolates of all kinds, in one stop; Midvally Exhibition Centre. Friends down south, get check out A week long pop up store featuring Reckless Erica + ELOHIM by Sabrina Goh @ Stamford House (SG).  The first week of year and there are already several events to go to such as Vincent Paul Yong's Transgression - A Photo Exhibition that will start this Thursday onwards to the end of the month.  Remember the first edition of Spin's Next Top Model 2010? They will be having the third session this Wednesday. If you'd like to listen to local artists and shop at the same time, head on to Bijou Bazaar at MAS Touchdown Charity Event, a place for family and friends to spend for a good cause. Still at the topic of charity bazaars, Soroptimist Club of Ampang is organising their very own Charity Bazaar open to public at Great Eastern Mall this very weekend. Last week we have anticipated to rush for Lelong Lelong 3, but the vendors have changed dates so make sure you clear your schedule for this one! Other than flea markets, there will be a week long of pop up store called UNCOVERED featuring ELOHIM by Sabrina Goh and Reckless Erica where you will enjoy sales of current collection and the launch of their SS2010 collection. Known for their series of flea market and variety of items sold, Enspired events have made their second comeback of the year with Enspired Bazaar Ushering 2010 Part 2. If you're still in the mood to party like you did in New Years Eve, come to Green Room Presents 2ManyDjs that will guarantee a night of electro indie goodness.

New Years Eve is just a few days away and we will be at the biggest most anticipated party of the year: FUTURE presents The Bloody Beetroots and Basement Jaxx! If you're still scouting for retail sales, Pot Meets Pop Denim Warehouse Sale is still going on until the end of the year. MaxMara and Marina Rinaldi is also having further sale reduction after Christmas day. Flea Titan IV will be one of the biggest flea market and music event to welcome the first weekend of the year at Singapore. Not forgetting for those in Malaysia, we're pampered with three big bazaars on the same week: Bizarre Bazaar Part 3, Lelong Lelong 3 and Enspired Bazaar. As for another alternative to shopping, our TiC Style Award nominee and one of Malaysia's fashion photographers, Vincent Paul Yong will be having his first solo exhibition called Transgression - A Photo Exhibition at KLCC.

Vincent Paul Yong

Long before this blog was brought to life, we wanted to interview and expose more of the people who were at work behind the scenes in the fashion industry. The ones who passionately designed for respected labels, curled and teased models’ hair backstage, slaved away at styling a mind-blowing shoot, traveled overseas to bring back must-have items and crouched behind the lens trying to get that perfect shot.

Behold our first KL interviewee for Tongue in Chic - Vincent Paul Yong. I first took notice of his name when a sunny inspiring fashion spread shot in the KL Hilton for Oxygen magazine (April 2006) caught my eye. Who was this photographer? His pictures were gorgeous! His acute sense for lighting and the diverse moods that are created across his shoots are magnetic.

We were inevitably introduced and bumping into him at the Fashion 2201 Spring/Summer show last week, got him to make love to our little sign.
