Playing Stylist: Recycled Holiday Pieces
The aftermath of holiday season is that you're left with a mountain of clothes on the floor that are only "season appropriate". Usual procedure would be; we shove them back in our fully packed wardrobe for until next December. With new trends coming and going, we tell you honestly that these clothes will just stay where they are until you've forgotten about them. So for this week's Playing Stylist, I asked my friend Shannon to model for my take on incorporating holiday outfits for everyday affairs!
Just-For-Fun Friday: Fun Takes on Christmas
Late last week, I intended to go to a Lady Gaga-themed party decked out in a Maison Martin Margiela-inspired seasonal coat, substituting sparkly tinsel for Christmas tree green, and hanging baubles on it. Unfortunately, I caught a flu and couldn't dazzle ridiculously. But the idea still, nevertheless, had me curious to see how you'd rock the last Christmas of the decade. Perhaps some of the designs after the jump will give you a little inspiration.

Truth be told, Christmas is a time that rears out my inner misanthrope. The mob of Christmas shoppers tend to bring out my hidden rage which is why I'll happily eat the turkey and pudding but unenthusiastically do the gift shopping. Thankfully online shopping provides a solution to my conundrum (while protecting the general public from my wrath). One site I'll be checking out is Best Buy World, an online beauty emporium that is offering great gift ideas for this Christmas season.
Tongue in Chic Holiday Special
There's so many things to love about the holidays and I don't mean just the extra spare time on my hands to feed stray animals, save lives and grant wishes - yes Santa I've been good this year, now can I have my 2.55? Ok I lied, the only stray I've fed is now my household pet, Henry and the only life I've saved this year is the said cat. I'm not sure about granting wishes but we do have a Tongue in Chic Holiday Special for you that hopefully will lighten your shopping woes and will be somewhat useful for you.

With Christmas drawing close, everyone is coming up with a way to combine their brand with the festivities. Stylemob pops in with their whacky contest, which in the light of things, isn't all that wacky considering the current turn to loving all things vintage. Their contest is called the "Deliciously Ugly Christmas Sweater", and what they want you to do is to forget your usual glam outfit. Tangs in Kuala Lumpur’s Pavilion revealed their 2008 Christmas Store themed “surrealism”, yesterday. Who’d have thought that Salvadore Dali and the most wonderful time of year could go so well together? The space was unique, allowing for careful placement of the new products in their various compartments, such as the boudoir for the lingerie and the bathroom for the perfumes and beauty products.
