Moosh is the latest newbie to join in the Bangsar boutique bandwagon. With its store opning last Saturday, moosh threw a mini cocktail party filled with wine, pizzas and heaps of clothing for its friends and family with a generous 20% discount storewide sale to commemorate its launch.

Just a stone's throw away from the giant that is Pavilion, is Wisma Cosway where my next shopping hunt has taken me. From the outside, the wide display of clothes from Rack can be seen. Having opened just a month ago, Rack is still pretty unknown to most.

Tucked away in Solaris is the minimalistic yet tasteful boutique called Frontrow. Twin sisters Noelle and Joelle Goh (how cute!) whom were fueled by their love of fashion, decided to embark upon every shopaholic’s dream – to own a boutique carrying some of their favourite designer labels.

A few days ago, an infantile boutique celebrated its first month anniversary with its owner who turned 29 on the same day. Being in an area that is currently secluded, they shared a quiet birthday together - the calm before the storm. In a matter of months, Solaris will attract clientele like moths to a flame, and Fashion Avenue will hold similar reputation to that of a staple Bangsar boutique.

It's pretty tough to find a vintage store in Singapore. Apart from the odd charity shop, true vintage stores are few and far between. So, when I caught wind of a store tucked away in the heart of Chinatown, I had to visit it in order to believe that it was there. In the midst of a row of shophouses, I located Dustbunny Vintage, the amazing treasure trove manned by Pia.

I re-caught Anastasia the other night on Youtube in nine parts. With Tsarevich images distinctly embedded in my head and a shopping urge to please, I woke to find Musse the next day. Located in the Telawi heart of Bangsar, Musse looks like a little loft, standing out like Hugh Grant's blue door in Notting Hill amidst a sea of otherwise, ordinary open-air stores.

For the longest time, I have been dreaming of having a cafe to call my own. I do not mean that I want to own the cafe, but instead, I want to belong to it. I want to be able to spend as much time as I can in an enclave of a store, which does not hurry or expect me to simply buy something, and leave. When I was a student, endless days were spent poring over math questions in the neighbourhood Starbucks. However, all Starbucks essentially look the same, and lack that quiet solitude I sometimes crave. Often, just when you least expect it, what you are looking for just appears in front of you.

While new Bangsar boutique, moca, and Patti LaBelle's "Lady Marmalade" may have one thing in common - namely, food motifs - moca hardly evokes Parisian burlesque and red light district. Instead, the cafe-styled boutique works with clean lines and bright open spaces, and its wares reflect its design concept. moca offers classic and contemporary pieces, and is an ideal place for discovering that perfect shirt to wear to work and impress your boss. High-waisted pants and skirts are definite features at the mo, as are brogues and over-sized totes.

I was strolling out of Bangsar Village II when I noticed a new boutique across the Delicious entrance. Situated in between the DVD shop and 24/7 store, window shopping mania got the the better of me to pop in for a quick look.

Boutique after boutique has been opening up in Bangsar and undoubtedly some seem to be carbon copies of others in terms of image and atmosphere. One of the latest additions to stir up chit chat amongst the regular shopaholics of Bangsar would be Tea & Sympathy.

It’s common knowledge that Bangsar is boutique central of Kuala Lumpur. Just take a stroll along the Jalan Telawis on a weekend and you’ll see stylish women with bags and bags of stuff hanging from their arms, each from the many different boutiques there. Needless to say, it can get pretty daunting to pick which store to hit first. My favourite? It has to be Bombshell on Jalan Telawi 2. It makes the climb up two flights of stairs worth it - I suppose there is some truth to the phrase “Shopping is my cardio”.
Run by Ming and Ethan, Bombshell’s look definitely reflects the eccentric tastes of its owners. The vintage wallpaper gets much love from most people I know, as does the mannequin leg which sticks out from the cashier counter. Walk into the fitting room and you’ll see quirky messages scribbled on the wall by their customers. It’s a store that’s bursting with personality.
