Playing Stylist: High Waisted
This week, I styled my bestie in different types of high-waisted bottoms and got her to pose for the camera. Personally, I love high waisted bottoms because it hugs the waist and hip area -thus creating an hourglass illusion for most. It's also a quick way to "prim" up an outfit without having to have a belt to do the trick. Enjoy!

Playing Stylist: Striped Tee
This week for Playing Stylist, I used a horizontal striped tee as my focus and changed it up in five different layering styles. Since horizontal stripes tend to make you look broader, here I've used the trick of having either a lighter coloured bottom or one that balances out the bottom half of my body. Hope you like it...

Playing Stylist: Prints
My best friend, Jojo and I are huge fans of prints and patterns. We have prints from head to toe; dress, top, blazer, skirt, boxers, bathrobe and leggings! So, this week for playing stylist, we've decided to do prints and came up with five different looks for five different occasions.

Playing Stylist: Harem Pants
Yes, although you've seen it last year on the runway and your nearby malls. Harem pants are making another round this season! Brand giants like H&M and Topshop are embracing the fun of the some would say "ugly" and hard to wear pants.

Playing Stylist: Recycled Holiday Pieces
The aftermath of holiday season is that you're left with a mountain of clothes on the floor that are only "season appropriate". Usual procedure would be; we shove them back in our fully packed wardrobe for until next December. With new trends coming and going, we tell you honestly that these clothes will just stay where they are until you've forgotten about them. So for this week's Playing Stylist, I asked my friend Shannon to model for my take on incorporating holiday outfits for everyday affairs!

Playing Stylist: The Little Black Dress
As cliche as it sounds, I insist that every woman has a little black dress - and if she doesn't, well, it's time to hit those Christmas sales! There's a lot of mileage in that skimpy dress, and well, I've decided to put mine to the test! Here's the same dress (okay I cheated and used a different dress in the first outfit because I couldn't for the life of me find my favourite LBD yet!) worn five different ways!

Tongue in Chic Holiday Special
There's so many things to love about the holidays and I don't mean just the extra spare time on my hands to feed stray animals, save lives and grant wishes - yes Santa I've been good this year, now can I have my 2.55? Ok I lied, the only stray I've fed is now my household pet, Henry and the only life I've saved this year is the said cat. I'm not sure about granting wishes but we do have a Tongue in Chic Holiday Special for you that hopefully will lighten your shopping woes and will be somewhat useful for you.

Playing Stylist: Tie-dye Bleach Tee
This week, I've decided to show you how you can work a colourful tie-dye bleach tee in five different ways easily. I've gotta admit that my favourite shirt which makes me happy whenever I put it on will be my colourful tie-dye bleach tee!

Playing Stylist: Floral Print Cropped Top
Fashion is all about recycling ideas. What may be old and passe is suddenly new and shiny again. The fashion cycle has now taken its full turn with the resurgence of the 90's trend. "Think Flashdance". We have seen colossal comebacks of the shoulder pads, big teased hair, neon tights, and now the cropped top. This midriff-baring trend has gotten approvals on the runway and on the streets, and will be reigning over long tops for a while. There're umpteen ways on how you can play around with cropped tops, and here are my 5 takes with a floral top from Cotton On.

Playing Stylist: The Alternative Rock Concert Look
Going for a concert is a wild experience but dressing for one can tricky business! While your ears will be entertained, your eyes will be treated to a wide array of concert clothes and you do not want to be the odd, frumpy one out! In this series of Playing Stylist we thought we can break it down according to the type of concerts. Right now we're imagining attending a Radiohead concert, so here is Playing Stylist: The Alternative Rock Concert Edition.

Playing Stylist: Ribbons
As I previously wrote about ribbons for TiC Surf over here, I thought it would be fun to play with them again for this week’s Playing Stylist! I called upon one of my closest friends, Ching, who is affectionately known as the Queen of Ribbons among us, for her expert assistance too. Here are five looks we put together to embody the flirty femininity of ribbons!

Playing Stylist: Borrowed from Boyfriend
I know we've featured the Borrowed from Boyfriend trend a couple of times previously, but yet we still can't seem to get enough of it. Perhaps it is because it's a surefire way to extend your wardrobe and it can be very useful for days when you're feeling a little bloated - if you know what I mean... To prove our point a little further, Karen and I have decided to go Playing Stylist on you with clothes borrowed from our 'boyfriend'.

Playing Stylist: Purple
This week, we've decided to show you how you can work some purple into your wardrobe without looking like a frumpy eggplant!

Playing Stylist: Ruffles
For this week's Playing Stylist post, I decided to try the sweetest trend in fashion - ruffles! Here's how I styled the lightweight dress - with cascading ruffles around the neck - that I got from Platinum Fashion Mall, Bangkok.

Playing Stylist: Animal Prints
For my first time at playing stylist, I've decided to take on animal prints as they are hot on the runway this season. I invited two of my best friends to be my models and we had fun letting our wild side come out to party!
(Note: No animals were harmed during the making of this edition's Playing Stylist)

Playing Stylist: Sequined Tank
Hello, I'm playing stylist for the first time this week! Yippee yahoo! There's this grey sequined tank I got from Platinum Mall (Bangkok) for a steal of RM5 that I always wear when I feel especially party-hyped (disco ball anyone?) or sparkly like a fairy. Here are five looks I pulled out from the same cheapo tank. P.S. Don't mind the horrid bathroom pictures; I couldn't find anyone to shoot me!

Playing Stylist: Yin & Yang
For this week's Playing Stylist, we decided to drop some double trouble fun and pull my partner in crime, Sher, to do a yin&yang set based on contrasting themes!

Playing Stylist: Fringe
Following Eliza Lee's trend talk post on fringe, I gave the fringe trend a shot. Here are a few looks I came up with:

Playing Stylist: Anna Sui-inspired
As much as I love Malaysia's annual sunshine, there are times I wish we were blessed with four seasons instead. Imagine the styling opportunities with a colder climate! Fall/Winter collections during fashion week have less of an impact because we can't totally relate, and that is such a pity because Anna Sui's Fall/Winter 09 collection was particularly eye-grabbing. In an attempt to recreate the rich tribal Russian ethnic vibe of the collection, Tongue in Chic decided to get our funk on and thus, we bring you this week's 'Playing Stylist' inspired by Anna-Sui.

Playing Stylist: Florals
Floral isn't a new trend, but you gotta admit, it's one that will never die out and just evolves season after season. I'm a big fan of floral and my closet is filled with floral pieces! They make any girl feel feminine and are great pieces to play around with to mix and match. Here are 5 ways I style my floral looks ;)
