Charles & Keith Launch @ Mid Valley (KL)
Malaysians first got a taste of Singaporean brand Charles & Keith back in July 2008 when the brand first landed in a store at Pavillion. It seems our appetite for well-made trendy shoes has been absolutely insatiable! The latest extension of the store, not just any simple boutique mind you, but the largest Charles & Keith boutique in the world is now opened at Mid Valley Megamall. Yesterday I went over to see for myself all 3,300 square feet of glorious shoe heaven.

We’ve noticed an interesting phenomenon here on Tongue in Chic lately and it’s about how passionate most of you are with your footwear. Not just any footwear of course - we’re talking trendy yet affordable shoes. Previous posts “Charles & Keith? Yes, please…” and “Charles & Keith in KL Pavilion” pretty much started a mini war between the C&K vs Vincci devotees within their respective comment sections.
Considering how many Charles & Keith fans we have here I thought you might be interested in taking a sneak peak at the summer collection, which according to our source should be available in time for the Pavilion opening in July.
Charles & Keith in KL Pavilion
Following Evevon’s post on Charles & Keith making its way into Malaysia, we’ve got more news for you! The 1,700-square-foot boutique will be opening its doors in Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur in July; with a second planned to open in the third quarter of 2008.
The brand has experienced phenomenal growth since 1996 with more than 130 concept stores in the region including Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Nice to know Malaysia will finally be included in the list!

Charles & Keith? Yes, please…
Blame it all on my misfortune, but this discovery would not have come about if I didn’t miss my flight. But in case you were thinking that I’ve unearthed a great gem of a store or discovered the perfect ruffled dress, then I’m sorry to disappoint as this discovery was on a personal note.
Many are probably already aware of the shoe brand Charles & Keith. I had heard about it vaguely and possibly checked out their site once or twice. However, besides being unofficially tagged the Vincci of Singapore by some, I wasn’t really sure what the fuss was all about. I mean, we have Vincci for the affordable footwear right? Venturing into their airport outlet, I realised that perhaps I was a little too hasty in writing them off. No surprises that I ended up leaving the store with a pair of yellow sandals with front crisscrossed straps and metal buckles.
