Malaysia’s most prestigious annual pageant is back. The Miss World Malaysia 2008/09 (formerly known as Miss Malaysia World) encompasses a radical twist of theme called “Kill Beauty. Save the Children.”
What? Kill Beauty, Save the Children? What’s going on?!
Rest assured ladies, the kill we are talking about here is not physical murder, but virtual assassination in the form of eliminating Miss World Malaysia’s contestants. Instead of voting who we think best to win the coveted Miss World Malaysia title, the new interactive feature allows the public to take part by voting off undeserving finalists. This calls for the assassinator in us to crush the dreams of innocent ladies with our ever-powerful weapon, the mouse. (And if I might add, it’s a pretty good stress-breaker too!)
Phase 1 of the killing has just ended, leaving us with 24 ladies vying for the crown. These 24 young hopefuls will soon be cut down to the 20 who will be competing during the Gala Night on August 9th 2008. The winner will be decided by a point scheme that consists - 70% by professional judges and the remaining 30% by public votes. She will then represent Malaysia at this year’s Miss World Finals in Ukraine in October.
As for saving the children, you can play superhero by doing your bit for charity by purchasing tables for the Gala Night. Tables are going from RM6,800 onwards. Proceeds will go to START Foundation, PS The Children and Ti Ratana.
This year you don’t have to go, “Argh, that girl does not deserve to win the crown! She’s so @#$%^&!” Now is the time to exercise your rights to kill undeserving beauties. Let the killing spree begin!
Web Kill Technique
1. Log on to missworldmalaysia.com.my
2. Click on ‘List of Potential Victims’ - these are the 24 finalists vying to be Miss World Malaysia.
3. Browse through the pretty faces (there are 3 pages).
4. Click on any face you think DOESN’T DESERVE to be Miss Malaysia, and click on the big red ‘KILL’ button under their pictures.
5. Wash your bloodied hands, rinse, repeat if necessary - you can KILL as many victims as you like, as many times as you like. Each vote counts!
6. Watch in glee as their pictures slowly become blackened out. The more black dots on their picture, the more people have killed them.
7. The 10 contestants with the highest number of kills will be eliminated, leaving 20 survivors to compete at the Gala Night on 9 August 2008.
