Up & Coming: Lee Li Xian
Have you heard of Lee Li Xian? Well, this 20-year-old Apparel Design and Merchandising graduate from Temasek Polytechnic Singapore just exhibited pieces that piqued my curiosity to find out more about her! Just check out her graduation collection - straightforward and subtle lines, with unexpected details on a structural frame.
"Inspired by Russian Avant Garde, my graduation collection takes cues from the curvilinear sculptural forms, to create designs with folds and interceptions at the most unexpected places," Xian explains.
A self-taught illustrator. she shares, "Illustrating and doodling allows me to record what I see every day." Proof that all you need is talent, passion and dedication, Xian illustrates, literally, what true talent is all about.
She has just launched her constructivism-inspired creations into the display at BlackMarket, a new boutique which recently opened in Singapore. Wish I knew this when I was last there, dang!
