Versace Spring ’09 collection
Supermodels continue to dominate ads and they show no signs of stopping. Versacé is launching their new SS09 collection with two the world's most recognised models of the decade: Kate and Gisele. Tanned, with wind-toussled beach locks, they look absolutely gorgeous and complement the refreshing black and white frocks, heart-adorned bags, and shiny platforms.Doesn't hurt they were shot by Mario Testino as well.
My personal favorite is the black heart dress Kate is wearing below, it's whimsical and oh-so-pretty!
The Daily Mail complains of Moss being over-Photoshopped and unrecognisable. Should we even bother? All professional photos are airbrushed before being published. It is heard that Gisele requires minimal retouching, but we do know how naturally beautiful she already is. She can wear a potato sack and still look like a million dollar diva! Do you think Kate looks unrecognisable in the pictures? I'm just curious as to what you guys think.
In retrospect, I am in totally awe of how amazing Kate looks. Despite looking like she does not even take time to brush her hair in the morning, she always looks amazing when it comes to editorials, and it's not all down to photoshopping.
As we all should know; Versacé isn’t one of those fashion houses that simply promote careless sexiness and the out-of-bed look. The predictions that Spring 2009 ads would be all about commercial models that can sell products are indeed coming into play. Versace pulled out not one, but two big guns for their campaign.
Donatella must not mind that she's sharing Gisele with Dior and Kate with Stella McCartney... :p
