Kiehl's Designer Quilt
Kiehl's officially joins the Petaling Jaya community, officially launching its 2nd free-standing store in Malaysia yesterday. Founded back in 1851, the New York-based apothecary and purveyor of face, hair and body products managed to rope in loyal followers by encouraging trial and not blatant advertising.
Mr. Bones is Kiehl's skeleton mascot, a reminder of their tradition in medicine and dedication to science.
One of Kiehl's best-selling products since the early 60s, Lip Balm #1, has donned the symbolic red ribbon that increases public awareness of HIV/AIDS the world over.
In conjunction with their store opening, Kiehl's is supporting World AIDS Day by selling the limited edition Lip Balm #1 for RM35. 100% of the profits go to the Malaysian AIDS Foundation.
Faux quilt for guests to doodle designs on
To commemorate Kiehl’s commitment to raising awareness and funds for AIDS research, Kiehl’s introduced the Kiehl’s Commitment Quilt. Made by 18 local designers, it will in turn be sewn by New York-based fashion designer Derek Lam, before being auctioned off for a global AIDS charity.

The 18 designers who are supporting this cause are: Gillian Hung (President of MODA), Sonny San, Key Ng, Eric Choong, Nazleen Noor, Nurita Harith, Jovian Mandagie, Melinda Looi, Khoon Hooi, William Liew, Lester Wong, Bon Zainal Harun, Daniel Chong, Daniel Cho, Carven Ong, Adnan Hassan, Jonathan Cheng, Bill Keith and Venie Tee.
