Waiting with Bated Breath for M-IFW '08

Yesterday marked the mifa (Malaysian International Fashion Alliance) signing of the customary Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with the sponsors and partners of Malaysia International Fashion Week 2008 (M-IFW '08), which will be taking place from 26th to 29th November.
It all sounds very formal, but a necessary step nevertheless to get things underway. Besides, where would we at TiC be without our local talent and Fashion Week to write about?
The signing ceremony was held at The Spread, a beautiful restaurant at Gardens Hotel.
The informal setting allowed the fashion designers, event sponsors, models, muses and invited guests to mingle over coffee and canapes.
Designers that will be showing at M-IFW '08 gave attendees a taste of things to come, by bringing along a muse each - dressed in new collection's designs.
However, this year's Fashion Week will not only feature Malaysian fashion talents, as Russian fashion designer, Serguei Teplov, will be shown on the runways at M-IFW in collaboration with Russian Fashion Week and Global Fashion Alliance (GFA). We entirely approve of these fashionably fluid borders because, if anything, fashion is a living entity that thrives on globalization and cross-cultural inspiration ;)
