Q+A: The Envelopes

Meet The Envelopes. One of the more pleasant online boutiques to surf due to clear photographs, photoshopped images and pretty affordable clothing.
Managed by Carmen Chiam, Cindy Liew and Vivien Sam, you will notice that these girls put a lot of effort in their pictures to present the apparel for sale in the best manner possible.
Unlike some blogshops, the girls behind The Envelopes are not camera-shy when it comes to modeling their clothes. At the start of their business, each of their items posted online were named after a female, beginning with the letter A. When letter A had been fully utilized, they moved on to the letter B. Too cute.
Tongue in Chic grabbed hold and had a little chit-chat with them.
Congrats on your online store's opening recently! How did the idea of opening an online store begin?
Because we are online shopaholics too! We want to join the fun by selling, earning and buying! Haha.
So who manages the blog most of the time?
Vivien handles the blog more frequently as she is the most experienced one (Vivien has a personal blog at www.vvens.com). Carmen will help out whenever Vivien's busy, and Cindy does the accounts. As for postage, we will take turns to do it.
Seeing that the three of you are besties, were there any difficulties faced initially?
Hahaha no, we didn't have any difficulties communicating during the process of buying stock and selling them online.
How did you girls come up with the name "The Envelopes"?
It was very random. We thought this was something we'll use to send items out in all the time. And we like the theme colors.
What's The Envelopes style?
Young, feminine, and trendy.
Where do you import your clothes from? Do you restock sold-out items?
We get our items everywhere in town. For now, we do not restock our items because we think it will be better if we get a variety instead of getting the same ones again. But in future if there's really high demand, we will consider restocking them.
Most online boutiques crop off their models head, but I noticed that you are face-friendly and even introduced the names, height and sizes of the models. Any reason why?
We do not like the concept of hiding the face. We believe that every girl should have confidence in their appearance because everyone is beautiful in their own way.
So far, The Envelopes only stock ladies fashion and bead necklaces. Any plans to expand soon?
Since we have just recently started this blogshop, we will stick to these few items first. Maybe if we can source out male fashion, we might put them on sale :)
