Does the word ‘shopaholic’ mean anything to you? Of course it does! Most of you TiC readers here are one anyway! (Don’t deny it! We saw you at KLue Urbanscapes recently, hunting down for great bargains!)

Following the footsteps of best-selling-fashion-novel-turned-chick-flick - Devil Wears Prada, 27 Dresses, Sex and the City - the next one to look forward to is Confessions of a Shopaholic (by Sophie Kinsella).

The first book of the best-selling Shopaholic series is to be made into a movie, directed by P.J. Hogan. The movie is now in post-production and has been announced to be released on 13 February 2009 in the United States.

So… wondering who will be playing the coveted role of the Shopaholic Rebecca (aka Becky) Bloomwood?

Isla Fisher! She recently starred in Definitely Maybe and lent her voice in Horton Hears a Who. Did you imagine Becky would look something like Isla when you were reading the book?

Other cast members include Hugh Dancy, who will be playing Luke Brandon, head of very successful PR firm, Brandon Communications. Luke eventually marries Becky in the book series.

Becky’s best friend, Suze will be played by Krysten Ritter. Krysten had previously appeared in Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, 27 Dresses and What Happens in Vegas.
