Just-For-Fun Friday: Minx Nails

Filed In Blog by claudia | Comments: 7 | Views: 2296

I have always had a thing for nails in a huge way. I painted my tips yellow for a Coldplay concert earlier this year, and as I write this, I'm sporting hot orange and pink coats. Anyway, I've been on some perpetual mission to get the perfect quality nail art manicure, sadly to no avail. Which is why my jaw literally dropped when I started seeing Katy Perry showing off her fingertips on Twitter.

After conducting a little research, I discovered Minx Nail Armour, a flexible film coated over the nails with heat and pressure. It was created by Janice Jordan to put polish in the past, along with the smudging, chipping and drying time that generally goes together with it.

Beyonce was one of the first to be spotted with a set of Minx nails. She also featured them as part of her roboglove ensemble.

Lady Gaga used them to emphasize her fierce!

And Solange Knowles used them to support Barack Obama.

Then Katy Perry and Lindsay Lohan began getting unintentional matching manicures.

Until Perry obsessed over them and often times went overboard (to my absolute delight)! These were her tips for Halloween...

At an appearance in Japan to go with a sushi ensemble...

And her birthday bash this year (yes, those are in fact Oompa-Loompas!)...

What do you think of Minx nails? Have you come across any recommendable nail artists closer to our shores? If you could get yourself Minxed, what would you want on your fingertips? I'd want this design right here!

It doesn't matter if the Japanese have been decorating their nails for ages; they're always miles ahead of the curve anyway. Most important is metallic shields are in trend now!
