Just-For-Fun Friday: Underwear as Outerwear
Wearing lingerie as outerwear like a superhero isn't exactly a new concept, though it has recently been positioned to become a full-fledged trend. Some say it's one of the things we should have left behind in the '80s, others say it's incredibly hard to pull off, but when done, it's terrifically avant garde. Just for fun, I'd like to know what you think!

Whether you love it or hate it, the top above is from Forever 21. That's right, the trend has already trickled down to become affordable to the masses.
Vogue credits Marc Jacobs for starting the wave via his Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear collection walk.

Upon first glance, I was immediately taken back to cringing in the '90s as I watched Carrie Bradshaw strut for Dior in an episode of Sex and the City. Not so much because of the indecency, I just hated the styling!

And I'll never forget the awe I felt for Sienna Miller stepping out in 2007 wearing bloomers for shorts.

But if you ask me, I think we all owe this particular trend to Lady Gaga. In a strange twist of events, it looks like she brought attention to lingerie as outerwear treating the streets as her high fashion catwalk, while Marc Jacobs simply altered and marketed it for the masses.

Christian Dior also paid close attention to exposing their intimates this year, even incorporating using stay ups as outerwear.

Wearing leggings as outerwear are a safer (but equally risque) way to catch on the trend.

This was my little take on the trend I reserved to the confinement of my bathroom during my Playing Stylist stint. Looks little busy and tarty, yes?

So what do you think of wearing innerwear as outerwear? Classy or trashy?
