Launch of Martell VSOP Rising Personalities Awards 2009
Just last month, we posted on the Martell VSOP Rising Personalities Awards 2009. Launched at Studio 99 last week, the award is back again to recognize up-and-coming individuals who rose above all others and have the potential to reach even greater heights.
Returning for its third year, Martell Rising Personalities Awards 2009 features 10 nominees - only one of which will be entitled to win the award.

Inside, ten stands which includes profile of the nominees with some really interesting polaroid pictures taken by the nominees themselves of their daily lives are displayed.

The winner of the award will be determined via public voting as well as a panel of judges including Dato' Lewre Lew, founder and design director of Lewre International and President of the Malaysian Official Designers’ Association, Gillian Hung.

The ever so lovely Marion Caunter hosted the event. She kept the crowd entertained throughout the Q+A sessions with the 10 nominees.
The first nominee, So You Think You Can Dance (Malaysia) Season 2 winner, Cecilia Yong vowed the crowd with her Latin dancing skills during her Q+A session.
Representatives from the fashion industry that made it to the finals included jewellery designer, Sze Yoong of Sze Accessories and Theresa Thian of Gallo.
Sze Yoong (right) who looks dashing in a feather skirt is getting married soon and that it is only natural for her to design her wedding jewellery and also her bridesmaids’.
A proud mother of a little girl, Theresa is launching her children’s line into her Gallo collection soon. They are now available in her store in Pavillion.
We also managed to spot some stylish people in the crowd that Thursday afternoon.

Public voting is open from the 8th of October 2009 until the 5th of November 2009 at the Martell Rise Above website. One lucky voter will walk away with a party worth RM 10, 000 to be enjoyed with friends.
The winning personality will receive (are you ready?) cash prize of RM 20, 000, an all expense paid trip to Cognac, France to visit the Martell facilities and on top of that, 10 bottles of Martell VSOP!
