BCBGMaxAzria 'Style to the Max' Fall/Winter '09 (KL)

Filed In Events by karen wong | Comments: 1 | Views: 1068

Last week, BCBG MaxAzria unveiled their new Fall/Winter looks at their store in Pavillion. Led by stylist Wee Chee, he shared with the audience BCBG's fall trends that are simply smoking this season. Read on to find out what they are and how you can work it into your wardrobe!

For 'Style to the Max', BCBG introduced 5 style mavens who epitomize the label's fall/winter collection, and paraded the latest BCBG collection in the store while Wee Chee gave a running commentary.

Anita Phang, who was crowned Mrs Malaysia World 2003, demonstrated how to rock purple, while Wee Chee explained why purple would complement all skin colours while also emphasizing the current trend of ruched draping, as seen on the dress.

He also stressed how little added details like rosettes and a bright belt would also help make an outfit pop.

This season it's also really hot to show your shoulders - but only one though! One-shoulder dresses as seen on Angie Ng help create a fun, swingy element to your outfit.

Optical illusions are a common feature in the fashion world (corsets, the colour black, shift dresses) but BCBG MaxAzria is taking it one step further with the creation of BCBG MaxAzria's grosgrain dress and the emphasis on optical prints this season.

The grosgrain dress, as modeled by Emily Soh, hides all bulges with its black texture while the slivers of white gives any wearer the illusion of curves.

Here Iryna Dayana showcases a stunning teal dinner dress with a plunging neckline, criss-crossed back and... wait for it, pockets!

Wee Chee predicts pockets will be a staple in fall and BCBG has actually worked the trend into a few of their other creations as well. As a massive fan of pockets, I can't help but shout out a big yell of approval!

For the working woman, Wee Chee advises to update staid office looks with a close-fitting vest. Niki Wong shows us how a vest can take you from casual to business.

Another major trend this season is shiny sequins. Embellished tops and dresses add some bling to your outfit and ease your outfit preparation as you would not need to worry about adding accessories.

Pair it together with leggings that remain a fashion favourite this season. Leggings this season are more stylized and textured, so put together with an embellished top, it would make for a very versatile night or day outfit.

Sack dresses are updated in bright modern colours and given a style update with the addition of frills at the hem.

The wrinkle-less chiffon is a key fabric this season. Strong tones will give the fabric a dramatic flair.

Rosettes come into play this season as well being the main feature on dresses. This gorgeous fuschia dress with rosettes and ruffles (on the right) is a key BCBG MaxAzria pick this season.

In a nutshell, this season's look is all about intricate designs that add to the outfit.

Last but not least, the infamous Hervé Léger line also by Max Azria gets a mention in BCBG with the creation of the bandage skirt.

Wee Chee advises to pair it with a classic white top to maximise the  sexy 'femme fatale' look.

All in all, 'Style to the Max' was a very illuminating presentation by BCBG MaxAzria that certainly identified all the key trends of Fall/Winter '09.

Quite boring & stale.
It's more about the dress & not
about women's figure & image to suit
the dress. Too fashiony talk, not consumer
friendly to learn.
