A Prediction Come True

“Amusing predictions by American fashion designers from the 1930s of what the well-dressed man and woman would be wearing in the year 2000″. Let’s take a look shall we?

Adaptation of sleeves to take you from day to night, electric belts to adapt the body to climatic changes, dresses with transparent nets to catch the males, electric headlights to find an honest man… hang on! What’s this business of trying to land a man? Dressing to attract a man? Tongue in chic (heh!) or not, I’ll have to concede that it is sometimes true… some people do indeed dress up to impress the opposite sex. And how much more useful would it have been if these predictions came true? I mean if all else fails, snag him unwillingly with a net then use your headlight to determine his character!

But for those of us who are more interested in dressing for ourselves, then the cantilever heels sure are spot on.

I used to quite like the United Nude Eamz pump but I wasn’t too sure about the shiny metallic heel…

Then came the Marc Jacobs backward heel for SS08…

As for him, “if he matters at all” according to the video? No shaving, colours or ties and he’ll be equipped with all basic necessities like the phone and containers for coins and keys . Boring stuff but pretty functional. And while the women have been predicted to catch a man with their net dresses, the men lures the women with “candies for cuties” as kept in his useful container!
