TOPMAN presents COUPLE, KILLEUR CALCULATEUR, LOVESICK AVENUE & TWINKIES
A common complaint I hear from my fashion-forward male friends in Malaysia (all 2 of them, sigh) is the lack of a Tongue in Chic website for guys. While such a site may yet come to existence, we here endeavour to balance out the gender inequality as best as we can. Hence, this one is for the gentlemen out there! Our musical sister brand, Junk, is working together with Topman to present COUPLE, KILLEUR CALCULATEUR, LOVESICK AVENUE & TWINKIES in an exclusive event where music and fashion will meet in a heady mix of unadulterated awesomeness. On November 13th, Zouk KL will play host to an event where there will be music from Malaysian indie pop bands, Couple and Lovesick Avenue, as well as the post-punk tunes of Killeur Calculateur and the DJ stylings of Twinkie's Arabyrd and Nadia.
The Malaysian indie-pop darlings have been a staple in the underground scene with their catchy tunes and their music have also been included in a US web-TV production! They were most recently nominated at 8tv's Shout Awards this year in the Popstar Award category. Check them out at www.myspace.com/couple.
If you were at Urbanscapes 2009, you might have noticed the crowd rocking out to Lovesick Avenue. The band definitely earned themselves new fans at the event and with their gig at Topman presents COUPLE, KILLEUR CALCULATEUR, LOVESICK AVENUE & TWINKIES; I expect a new wave of adoring fans hankering for their pop music. Hardrock meets post-punk in the music of Killeur Calculateur. The band has been recently nominated for the Junksounds Awards 2009 and it's clear to see that their unique music stylings are getting the buzz they deserve.
