WindowShopBlog: Kang (SG)
Ever so often, we'll come across a terribly creative individual that makes us tingle! Just recently at Flea-tique in Singapore, we discovered Kang, a specky lad who infuses his own personal twist and edge on fashion. Armed with an undeniable talent at creating a myriad of chainmaille accessories, Kang is certainly not a follower of trends, but rather, a creator and crafter of unique pieces you can't find anywhere else.

The phrase "Everybody should spend more money on accessories and jewellery" is displayed proudly on his sidebar, and it is certainly something that we can't help but agree with. ;) Kang's enthusiasm for jewellery is infectious, as he himself is a proud wearer of his own creations, and even if you're not a craftsman or a fan of chainmaille jewellery yourself, you might still find yourself intrigued by his blog posts!

The Kang is a rather interesting site on its own - it isn't exactly a blogshop, but rather, a truthful recollection of his experimentation with chainmaille jewellery and his insights on other craft he dabbles with. All his pieces are DIY-ed and most have no price tag on them on the site, but of course, you can always email the craftsman himself if something catches your eye!
One of our favourite pieces by him, are this uber cool cuffs which he shapes by heating up pieces of vinyl records.

Besides chainmaille jewellery, Kang also has tricks up his sleeve for other fashion projects. Check out this shirt he tie-dyed with neon paint:

A new project he recently forayed into is this interesting trapezoid clutch - an idea he's still developing and working on, and an end product we can't wait to see!
A pretty active participator in the Singaporean flea markets and bazaar scene, you can follow Kang's twitter or blog to find out when his next offline venture is, so you can view his accessories for yourself if you're in Singapore!
Here are some pictures of people wearing his vinyl cuff accessories.
