Trend Talk Tuesday: Mesh
From mesh watch straps to mesh shoes and mesh dresses, what exactly does the mesh trend mean? What does the word ‘mesh’ encompass, even? Well, according to the dictionary, mesh simply means a material made of a network of wire or thread; the spacing of strands in a material.

Mesh has become one of this season’s must-have trends. Alongside the peek-a-boo theme of the season (think YSL’s caged heels and our previous TiC Surf post on boudoir crossing), mesh is simply a fashionable and modest way of exposing skin. Metal mesh, which has been around for ages now, seems to be making a comeback too. A little hint of shine on the bustier of a dress does wonders for enhancing your figure and adding a little sparkle to your outfit.

Mesh shoes are all the rage, with these babies being my lead favourites for a little bit of the va-va-voom factor. I particularly love the Dior ones pictured below, so hot!

The Stella McCartney mesh sandal caused such a flurry in the fashion world as well. Known for her vehement support for animal rights, these lovelies are made from faux leather (like all of her other designs) and they also come in a sexy beige :)

Mesh netting on dresses, on the other hand, add a classy vintage touch to even the plainest little black dress. It’s a great way for showing off a bit of skin while keeping it ladylike at the same time. Alternatively, you can opt for showing more skin thru mesh in a rock and roll manner!

A fantastic piece for layering, it can be found at American Apparel (who ship to Singapore) along with loads of another yummy mesh goodies over here.

A bit closer to home, you can purchase this mesh dress below from The Scarlet Room (whom we've also written about before on TiC over here).
