Finally, some pictures and words to share with those of you who haven't read about the Tongue in Chic launch online already!

The week before the launch threw most of the staff in the office into a frenzy - preparing the designs for print, collecting all the dressed dollies back, locking down giveaways for our guests (you!) and ensuring all partners were sure of when to be where.

Shawn Cutler hair salon came in as partner for the event to style our four space ambassadors' hair, right after Make Up Store was done with dolling up their pretty little faces according to theme.

I walked around getting pictures of set up before the guests were scheduled to start arriving at 7:30pm at The Apartment, KLCC.

We had many goodies placed as part of set up to give out in the hundreds, including the popular Topshop shopper bags from Urbanscapes fame, baby Beefeater Gin bottles, Invisibras, Make Up Store's M magazines, Mooks vouchers, Topshop vouchers, and many-a colourful sachets courtesy of Durex.

Tongue in Chic had four separate spaces set up in different themes while featuring outfits put together by locally-renowed stylists.

The bohemian area with its wooden easels and branches, displayed decadent threads by stylist Calvin Cheong.

In the hipster room, retro videos played on old-school television sets and lightbulbs shone from the wooden floor, as stylist Daniel Henry's ensembles hung in the glass cupboards.

Each stylist had their profile hung in each space, though I'm not sure how many guests read them!

Guests arriving.

Our lovely space ambassadors (we didn't know what else to call them) dishing out information and goodies to guests as they explored the fashion spaces.

This is the vintage and sophisticated area, with clothes stylist Cris Yong put together. His outfits were hung on black silhouettes, and mannequins placed in reflective spaces.

And of course. The dolls.

Over 200 handmade dolls were sent out to various individuals in the creative industry (fashion, design, advertising, music) to sew little outfits for, weeks before the launch. The response blew us away as all the dollies returned in some of the most immaculate outfits with interesting fabric and detailed beading, in all sorts of styles - victorian, rock, goth, pop, chic.

All of them were displayed on three boards along the first floor of The Apartment, with tags affixed to each one describing its clothes designer's details and inspiration.

The lovely stylists also loaned us funky headgear and other accessories for guests to deck themselve up in, to camwhore at the Tongue in Chic photowall.

And of course, what is a fashion blogpost without a breakdown of what some of our superstylin' guests wore at the launch!
