Beauty On Tuesdays: Clarins HydraQuench Range

Filed In Fashion by claudia | Comments: 0 | Views: 412

We all suffer from at least one of these problems - chapped lips, uneven skin tone, flaky skin, or even appearance of fine lines (though we hate admitting it!) - and yesterday I found out the main problem that causes this: lack of water!

Daily factors we're exposed to like heat, pollution, and air conditioning dehydrate our skin terribly; which is why we're recommended to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. For ultimate skin hydration, Clarins invited us to their institute in KLCC to try for ourselves new additions to the Clarins HydraQuench Range.

First launched in 2008, the HydraQuench range provides multi-level hydration for skin affected by dehydration, weather and pollution. This year, Clarins is extending the range to additionally help to replenish your skin's water reserves, giving you protected radiance!

Aside from the creams, there are now replenishing lip balms, a hydration mask and an intensive serum to further boost hydration.

How does it work? What's that weird little ball blocking the products in the picture above? Hah, let me answer both your questions in one quick swipe. That's katafray - the magic ingredient from Madagascar that will boost hydration mechanisms in your skin.

I'm not going to drawl on about this product - maybe its best I tell you the experience that got me sold.

First came a presentation. It basically explained the ways in which Clarins combats dehydrated skin. As I mentioned before, katafray lies at the heart of their range. Together with hyaluronic acid, it forms a film on the skin that retains moisture, reinforces the skin's barrier function (which means no toxins), and ensures the skin's water reserves!

I was then given a tour around the institute! Apart from the new additions to the HydraQuench Range, I also found out Clarins provides waxing sessions too! :)

Eventually, I was told I was going to get a facial. I have never got one before, but was excited all the same because my skin has been a little dull and dry lately, no thanks to the current extreme weather fluctuations in KL.

This was my room with a sky painted on the ceiling! But that's besides the point. During the hour-long facial, I went through exfoliation, masks, facial massages and moisturization treatments. And let me tell you; the facial was worth every cent (it costs RM198).

Aside from believing in the power of hands for healing (with over 40 massage movements used), Clarins also makes sure their treatments give all 5 senses a pampered and relaxing experience.

That's a Moisture Monitor. Before I went in for the treatment, my skin was measured to have 31.6% of moisture. As you can see on the index, it's not a good thing. I had 58% when I came out. No joke! The whole day, my skin had a radiant glow, without oily grease. It felt great!

The treatments Clarins Institute offer ranges to suit your personal skin care needs, be it for age defying, restoration, or hydration. The best part is that every single detail of each treatment has been intricately designed to make sure you get treated like royalty, at the price range of RM198 to RM300.

But if you'd rather use the products at home, here's the entire range! There's an SPF15 HydraQuench lotion, cream (in SPF and without), rich cream, soothing and cooling gel (all RM205), intensive serum (RM225), cream mask (RM135) and replenishing lip balm (RM75).

Clarins Institut outlets are located at:
