Audi Fashion Festival: Opening Gala
After a great deal of anticipation, Christian Lacroix finally made his Asian debut on Wednesday. The French couturier opened the Audi Fashion Festival to much fanfare as guests sat spellbound.

Despite the slight delay in the show starting, it is a great privilege to have him in Singapore as Lacroix rarely shows his collections outside of Paris.

He showed 15 of his Haute Couture Spring/ Summer 2009 collection (below in chronological order):

I love the eclectic design of this one!

This pink poufy skirt here reminds me of the short puffball skirt or le pouf that he made famous!

Known for using bright colours and highly influenced by contemporary art, Lacroix's graphic style opened the festival with a bang!

With a background in historical costume and clothing, the Frenchman's designs captivated the crowd. Just look at the fine detailing and mishmash of textures.

Last but not least, Brit Supermodel Jacquetta Wheeler closed the show by strutting down the catwalk in a fabulous off-shoulder gold gown.

She was the face of French Vogue and a Gucci ad campagin at only 17, and has since been declared the 'Face of the Millenium'.

Guests were also treated to a luxurious dinner by St. Regis during the gala. The sold-out black-tie affair (which cost $400 to $500) saw fashionistas and people of high society rubbing shoulders during the night.
I've got my eye on Gareth Pugh! : ) Here he is sitting by a companion and enjoying his dinner!
