Icon of the Week: Françoise Hardy
This week, I'm jetsetting to Paris and time traveling to the 60s, to a time and place which is arguably one of the best for fashion trend sourcing. Meet Françoise Hardy, born in 1944, she blossomed into a singer, actor, astrologist, model and perhaps most significantly - a true blue fashion icon.

Like most fashion icons, Françoise Hardy exuded an innate aura of chic. Even if you put her in a simple blouse and skirt next to someone in avant garde, chances are eyes would fall on her anyway.

Her style was really, mostly as simple as that.

Few can make a drab striped T-shirt look so effortlessly Parisian chic.

Or an extremely casual all-black ensemble look equally innocent and edgy.

The true fashionista allows her charisma to shine through her clothes to make them endearing and completely timeless, which is exactly what Françoise Hardy exemplified in the 60s.

Because I'm bias, I focus mainly on her looks from the 60s, but I firmly believe she has remained stylish even to present day at the age of 55. Click here to see her style evolution over the years.

I suppose if I were to analyze it, the success of Hardy's distinct look resides in her youthful, simple and refined taste that somehow becomes quirky and whimsical upon her wearing.

Even her hairstyle is of nymph-like innocence and nonchalance only Parisians can stylishly pull off.

To pinpoint exactly what we mostly commend Hardy for, it's her effortless biker-chic style. Hardy, translated into today's fashion, would reference looks from Kate Moss and Irina Lazareanu.

And just in case you were wondering, here's how Hardy's looking these days - still exuberantly fresh and stylishly chic.

That's all for this week's Icon of the week! Until next Wednesday, folks!

If you have any ideas flickering about, I'd love to hear who you'd like featured next week!
