Fashion Grand Prix Events Coming Up!
Last week, I went for a couple of media events based on two Grand Prix fashion events that will be happening simultaneously in conjunction with F1. While they're only geared to start their engines in two weeks time, I thought I'd share the info I got for now anyway!
First up is the Pavilion KL Pit Stop, which will showcase a series of fashion and car-related events from 1st till 5th April.
The Pavilion KL Pit Stop is made up of four parts:
- Car Pit Stop : The ING Renault F1 car will be on display for all five days for everyone to come appreciate.
- Fashion & Party Pit Stop : From 1st to 3rd April, Pavilion will play host to fashion shows featuring new Spring Summer collections from their retailers with make up by Shu Uemura and hair by Ando Ho.
- Connection Pit Stop : Grab a helmet and have a go at Shell Ferrari racing stimulators! The al-fresco dining outlets will also offer drink and dine promotions while they air live telecasts of the qualifiers and the big race.
- Promotion Pit Stop : Where car enthusiasts can shop for car-related products. :)
Emmeline Ng, Irene Santiago, Henry Golding, Deborah Henry
We got a little taste of what to expect during the Pavilion KL Pit Stop media event via a fashion show and the showcasing of the ING Renault F1 car. The fashion show saw local celebrities like Irene Santiago, Deborah Henry, Emmelline Ng and Henry Golding strutting the runway.
The event is brought to you by lots of people: Pavilion KL, GH Mumm, Enrich Malaysia Airlines, MasterCard Worldwide and EON Bank Pavilion Card.
Across town from the Pavilion KL Pit Stop press conference, was the media preview for Stylo Fashion Grand Prix, KL 09. As the follow up to last year's huge success, Stylo doesn't plan to disappoint this year.
Stylo will be held in KL from March 30th to April 5th. Here's the scheduled programme:
30th March : Stylo presents "The Devil Wears ..." will be a pre-party to commemorate the event and to say, "Cheers, here's to Stylo!"
31st March : Stylo Fashion Grand Prix KL '09 grand opening night, featuring 'Opulence of the Raj', a fashion showcase by British India.
1st April : A Couture Evening by Visa will see 120 KL socialites taking to the catwalk paying homage to 30 of Malaysia's top fashion designers.
2nd April : Designer Grand Prix will kick off at 10.30 am for a 12-hour fashion marathon, showcasing Asian designers and labels.
3rd April : Mercedes-Benz Stylo Fashion Awards will see 12 young designers against a panel of judges for a chance to win the Stylo Young Designer Award. The Awards Gala will take place the same night.
4th April : Vodafone Mercedes McLaren Bash will feature three Madrid designers presenting a collection of their best works over the years.
5th April : The Devil Wears XXX (the name of the Designer of the Year) will be a celebration party bash for the Stylo winner.
