Be Transformed!
Remember that super cute Nike invite I raved about? Well, I went for the event last week with my colleagues, Sarah, Didi and Valene. Essentially, the event was the launch of the Nike Training Club, a program organised by Nike and Fitness First.
The launch was held last week in Fitness First at ten in the morning. Upon registration, guests were given a pair of shoes and an outfit for a 20-minute demonstration, Nike of course!
Everyone received a pretty good deal - a free workout and a free workoutfit!
Once geared up, everyone was either hyped (like Didi over here flexing her muscles) or nervous about putting their fitness to the test (like Sarah on the left, whispering she's unfit). Arafah on the other hand, was too busy getting all coy with the camera.
We were then ushered to a studio upstairs. Girls being girls, the studio filled up with noisy banter in no time! Also present were girls like actress Chermaine Poo, host Sarah Lian, Malaysian Dreamgirl winner Cindy Teh, and bloggers Ringo Tan and Amanda Choe.
Until emcee Juliana Sophie Evans said, "Settle down class, let's work out, haiyah!"
To which the class said, "Hokay teacher..."
And put their game face on!
And then they were off! The workout program essentially emphasizes on a format aimed to train the entire body in a dynamic, multi-dimensional way. Which takes cardio, core, strength, balance and flexibility components to the next level. Instead of doing a lunge, you'd be doing like a lunge-kick-step-kick-twist-lunge. If you get my drift.
For one exercise, everyone was asked to find a partner. Between the two, one was to balance on one leg with their eyes closed, while the other tried to push her off balance. Didi looked particularly happy to take Arafah down, but as you can see, Arafah is rock steady.
Guests were trained by Marie Purvis, a US Nike trainer who flew over to work with Fitness First trainers.
Isn't she radiant? She looks particularly happy because everyone left the studio feeling muscles they never knew existed - Didi, Sarah and Valene couldn't walk straight for the remaining of the week!
Along the outskirts of the studio, Nike featured their Nike Sister series, a range of footwear that's pretty without compromising performance or functionality. While it was stressed that you don't need to wear Nike to join the Nike Training Club program, the Nike Sister series was conceptualised to make the best of your workout sessions.

The Nike Sister Series introduce the DiamondFLX and Flywire Technology, which offer lightweight, strong, and multidirectional support and flexibility for the footsies.

This is my pick of the range. What's yours?
