TiCopycat: Idolizing Adeline R.
TiCopycat will be a new segment where we look to inspirations from Lookbook and Chictopia and show you how you can copy their look with items from our local online shopping blogs!
This week for the very first TiCopycat, we’re going to be taking a look at one of my favourite Lookbook fashionistas, Adeline R. Adeline has an amazing ability to mix and match, and create the most awesome outfits out of nothing much at all. Her secret: accessories, and a refreshing mix of colours.

A simple outfit can be glammed up with just a hint of colour and an artful mixture of accessories as seen below.

Well, I did some scouting around for you, and if you want to emulate this particular low key fashion forward style of Adeline's, here are some options for you to check out.

1. Jacket with draped neckline by A&J Pre-Order (RM35)
2. Striped long sleeved top by Closet Chaos (RM45)
3. Shorts by Hearts Fashion (RM35)
4. Scarves from Moca Boutique (RM39)
5. Tan Bow Booties by Shoessaholic (RM69)
6. Cage Heels by Shoessaholic (RM69)
7. Esmeralda Earrings by Minz (RM109)
DIY TIP! Steal your Dad's old pair of black office socks to wear as knee-highs instead. Holes? Even better, grunge is in! ;)
DIY TIP #2! If you don't have a circle scarf, simply use an oversized t-shirt (or steal one from your older brother!), tuck the sleeves inside and drape it around your neck. If you're slightly more daring, old bed sheets work well for this too :)
DIY TIP #3! Instead of splurging on jewelry, be creative and root through your Mum's old jewelry or sewing box. You can use buttons, old earrings, rings and other knicknacks as pendants by threading them on a ribbon or chain.
Dressing for work doesn't have to be boring. If you're heading out after work and don't want to change into something more casual, simply layer on a few simple accessories to instantly give your outfit a more laid-back feel.
Think you can handle it? Here are some guidelines:
DIY TIP 1! Take a leaf from Adeline's book and wear sockettes (you could also cut the foot part out from a pair of old stockings) when wearing complicated shoes - you can simply slip your feet in and out without having to worry about unlacing all those knots and laces.
DIY TIP 2! When in doubt, layer. When you've got a plain black outfit like the above, a solid colour cardigan over it alone can make it look even more drab. Style it up by layering more colours on top, whether it be scarves, another cardigan, brooches and so on!
