Cloche hats may be a big hit during Fall/Winter 2007 fashion shows, but it seems that the trend is still going strong till today. Recently seen on Gossip Girl and The Changeling, fashion icons Leighton Meester and Angelina Jolie were spotted adorning chic cloche hats respectively.

Cloche means "bell" in French, and French milliner Caroline Reboux was named creator of the iconic hat. The cloche hat most resembles to a female version of a helmet and was most popular during the 20′s, the post-World War I period.
An interesting tidbit of information that you probably didn’t know – amusingly, there are meanings to the ribbons which send out various messages about the wearer. For example, a firm knot signaled marriage, an arrow-like ribbon indicated that the girl is single but unavailable, and a flamboyant bow screams single and interested in mingling!

Is there anywhere in Malaysia we can find cloche hats? So far I only saw them in Forever 21 and immediately placed my feline paws on them. I did try searching for them in Sungei Wang but to no avail. Haven’t seen them on blogshops either. Does anyone have a clue? Do share them with us here in the comment section!
