Reiss in Pavilion recently threw a simple fashion party showcasing their Spring Summer 08 Collection. Hailing from UK, Reiss’ reputation for their elegant clothing has been noticed and noted, but you must agree it’s always a different issue altogether to see how the pieces hang from one’s body.
Rushing from a meeting into the store, I didn’t recognise many people there (probably due to my lack of presence in the scene!) save for some of the other fashion media moguls.

The store interior is casual and simple, putting more focus on what they have on display – apparel, bags, belts and shoes.

Veteran model, host and actress Bernie Chan emceed the event whilst clad in a coral Reiss Fabiola dress with black belt to cinch..

There are some brands out there whose accessories never draw much attention but I must say Reiss isn’t one of them. Even before the show started, eyes fluttered and hands drew to their lush high heels and belts that came in classic styles of snazzy colours.

The Crius

They had a Little White Dress with great cut and material to drape and fall just nice. Their SS 08 Collection is seriously drool-worthy. One could imagining how every piece could be coveted into their wardrobe regardless of their age, being it 18 or 36. The awesome thing about their pieces is how modern classy cuts are infused with a little twist in detail somewhere, making it unique. I’m calling it a Slash of Reiss.
Citrine yellow blouses that give off a sheen makes it suitable for night as well. Paired with oyster grey pants and coral peep-toe slingbacks, their colour coordination does inspire one to be more daring in clashing sunny tones.

Reiss’ Benoite dress

Ahh… the Mason. With built-in corset that prevents one from looking like a balloon while wearing a shift, it’s already seen air time as Marie Claire UK’s Buy of the Day just yesterday.

Summery dresses aside, their army-inspired pieces are casual utilitarian in taupe, nougat and grey that whisper sexy.

The Jillian caught on to the brush stroke trend.

When it toned down to neutral colours, it was made up for in detail detail detail. Even Susie of Style Bubble wrote about it a week back.

People have been emailing saying we’re lucky to have Reiss in Kuala Lumpur (it’s currently the only stand-alone boutique in South East Asia) and part of me agrees whereas a part of me begs to differ. Loving so many pieces and not being able (to afford) having them all distracted me at work for a good week.
