In Malaysia, when we talk about hair salons, one of the first names that come to mind is A Cut Above. The established hair salon that was founded in 1979 by Ms. Winnie Loo is the first choice for many. Simply because of the years of well-honed talent and experienced stylist it boasts. The company recently launched their new flagship hair salon at Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC) that sets a lot of new firsts for A Cut Above. Setting a new precedent for hair salons in town, A Cut Above at BSC is one of the largest hair salon in Malaysia.
Sprawled over 5,000 sq ft with a see-through glass exterior and featuring 52 styling chairs as well as 4 private rooms, the new A Cut Above salon intends to be a one-stop TLC pampering shop with services like hairstyling, manicures, pedicures, massages and makeup.
Add some colour into your life with the many hair dyes available.
These private rooms are installed with flat LCD TV screens and customers have the option of either viewing Astro or watching their own movies.
As mentioned before, the launch of the store was jam-packed with celebrities. These friends of A Cut Above were there to lend support.
The Bjork/Yoko Ono lookalike (with sunnies) in the middle is none other than Anita Sarawak!

At the event, guests were entertained by a few musical guests that really set the atmosphere for the night.

The crew from A Cut Above, Bangsar Shopping Centre also produced a hair showcase that demonstrated how any hairstyle is possible with a little ingenuity and a ton of hairspray!
Of course such an event would draw the stylish folks out. Here are some of the people who caught my eye with their fabulous outfits. I must apologize for those whose details I took down. I lost my notes at the event and I only have a terribly spotty memory to go on!
