Considering Spider-Man has been wearing spandex tights and still looks mighty fine, it’s pretty surprising that the meggings trend never caught on. That’s right, meggings. Leggings for men.

If you want to get all technical, Steven Tyler’s been rocking leggings for quite a while now, but then again, the man would wear anything. Besides, it was only recently when designers began to produce leggings specially catered for the male body… and its endowed anatomy.

What do you reckon? Hot?

Or not?

These days, tights aren’t just for superheroes, not with designers like Marni, Givenchy, Galliano and McQueen making their models strut their stuff in meggings.

Even Russell Brand has been spotted in these Sass & Bide leggings for women. In fact, he calls them his testosterousers!

Meggings aside, let me ask you this: would you buy a pair of these Acne mens ballet shoes for the men in your life? Because try as I might, I’d refuse to share shoes with my boyfriend – it’d be like sharing a toothbrush!

Or would you check out a man strutting past in a pair of meels (mens’ heels)?

Because Marjan Pejoski (the same guy responsible for Bjork’s infamous swan dress) sent them down the runway, they’ve become a fashion forward trend.

What do you think about men adopting women’s trends? Considering we’ve been wearing pants before we could say YSL, I think this is well deserved. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve heard guys complain about finding wardrobe alternatives.
Sure it might not always look good in the context of body shapes and they way they’re styled, but I do feel it should’ve been a staple a long time ago. In fact, I’m pretty excited to live in the era that gave birth to these clothes. What do you reckon? Just for fun, go crazy at the comment box this Friday.
P.S. Last year, we spotted a photographer donning meggings in Bangsar. Click here to see Mubaraq be all fabulously forward!
